Hey PA guy looking for trails

Going around gates gets things closed up. Public access is something to be respected.

    Drawer fridge

I just want to clarify- this was the Alpicool C40 chest fridge, empty. Not a drawer.

    Drawer fridge

Well how about that... So Yesterday I ran some more tests as per above.. cooled the *empty* fridge to 34 and let it soak for several hours indoors, then watched how long it took to for the temps to climb back to 40. 39 minutes. I was a bit shocked thinking, maybe it needed a longer soak...

    Drawer fridge

Alpicool does not make a drawer. I assumed TwoSheds meant their chest fridges. Alpicool Website

    Drawer fridge

You know, that is something I didnt look at. I will test it today, empty, indoors and report back. I think the lid and lid seal are the weakest part of the fridge that i see. The seal itself doesnt feel substantial enough, and I did notice a bit of moisture/frost form around the top of the...

    Roof Top Tent (RTT) Question

Our tepui Ayer 2 is great. It is my opinion that most of these tents are all made in the same 3-5 factories. When you look at the models, some are absolutely identical.

    Drawer fridge

Yes. I just got the C40 chest fridge freezer. The first one arrive damaged inside the shipping box. Amazon took care of that within 3 days, and I had a new one. I cooled it down overnight to 25, then took it out for a night camping. I ran it off and on directly from the car until dark...

Who else brings a grill?-1 cooking device to rule them all!

I use a Weber Q as my daily at home grill for the last 10 years. Amazing grill. I do not take it out with me- too messy.

    Miles per gallon lost

Me too. I started high near 30mpg off the lot, right now with a roof tent, 5 big tires, rear carrier and all my gear I am lucky to get 21. Edit: Immediatly after posting, I started thinking, thats as much my fault, as its only a 2.0 4cyl and I have a serious lead foot issue.

    HAM

Hi, welcome, I am a new HAM so I am sure others will chime in with much better info... I got my license through a local club. I studied myself on apps and with the ARRL tech book. I took my test after about a month, and was lucky enough my local club was offering outdoor testing in a parking...

    Dehydrated meals - any recommendations?

Packit Gourmet makes some GREAT meals. Their blackbean and corn salad is good enough to eat at home. I do like a few of the Mtn. Houses too, I stay away from any meats except chicken. Freeze dried beef always tastes like cardboard. I am partial to the Mtn. House Sweet & Sour chicken.

    Has overlanding become elitist ?

True. I have been a shop teacher for 21 years now. I have seen it all go away for a myriad of reasons: Districts want to be all inclusive, consumables are expensive, kids are lazy, discipline is not where it needs to be to run a shop in many areas, shops are valuable classroom real estate in...

    2019 Ford Ranger

Yeah, I was leary about making that bend too, but it is a necessity. My advice, do it at home now, so you arent trying to do it on a rock when the rain starts unexpectedly.

Members with information/experience/interest in Pennsylvania State Forests for off pavement travel/dispersed camping

I went out to Loyalsock for a quick overnight this past weekend. The weather was perfect- until 2am when a cloud sat on us and just made everything WET. We took our new kitten out for her first time.

    2019 Ford Ranger

Nice! It looks like you need to bend your tent 'poles' up and over your awning so you can use your windows and rainfly.

    Accessory fuse box?

And I went the Amazon prime route. I read all the reviews and chose the Nirider 6 gang system. It is very well made, heavy guage wiring on the battery side, 16g fused hot side. It has a single flat cable (quite long) that connects to the switch panel inside. The switch panel is where it sucks...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I installed my HAM radio on a gooseneck AMPS platform. I ran a new circuit, and hid all the wiring. I have it so it reaches up between the front seats (over the most important trash can). I didnt want to put holes in the dash yet, and the front of the cabin is not set up for much room for extra...
