Timely thread. I am currently running a 2m/70cm Tram 2.5db gain on an NMO mag mount.
I need to devise something that when mobile, will sit above my roof top tent. The tent has a thick PVC cover over aluminum so mag mount up there isnt gonna work.
I use a Lewis N Clark 40L dry bag on my rack. I used it for a 7k mile cross country trip through with snow & hail with no issues. Dust did get deep into the roll top, but never inside.
You're really starting to scratch my diy electronics itch with the raspi. I do a lot of experimenting with Arduino. and I wanted a good reason to play with a raspi...
Now.. If we connect the two, and build a hamshack with a arduino controlled switching system and a touchscreen... :smirkcat:
I installed an aux fuse box & switch pod. I had to make a bracket to fit it in my cramped engine bay.

Maine State Parks wont turn you away at a campsite. They will direct you to "quarantine" at your site. No moving around the camps.

I spend time and money making sure everything on my vehicle is modular and locked. When its not going to be used in the next couple days its off my car.
I hardly ever drink a full cup of coffee unless its COLD outside. I do usually make a cup though. I bring plain coffee in a jar, sugar and light cream, and I do a simple pour over using a Sea>Summit filter.
My suggestion, High Tail it out of New England/Mid Atlantic and dont look back until your past Chicago somewhere. You can start to decide North or South Dakota (SD). Hit the Black hills, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood. Then you have real choices to make. I go to Montana (Glacier NP) then south through...
Money is not my biggest concern with this car. I dont have kids. I have a job. I could put whatever I want under it. I am building the car for cross country trips to go to mountain places we dont have in PA. That means a lot of miles before and after off roading.
What I have done is 1" ADF lift...
