I would. I will also get my General anyway. This is the kind of learning I am into.
As for not "working" for your upgrade, the way I see it is would you rather see your chosen hobby die, or would you rather entice a few more people into the hobby by giving them more opportunity at some of the...
This sounds like a good enough reason for me to add one on certain trips.
I carry a medium Fiskars splitting axe for firewood needs on most trips already.
I am torn on what to get. My vehicle is street parked , so any type of electronics need to be well hidden. I am thinking of running the 50w Btech for cost and size. Its tiny enough I can squeeze it in on a seat bolt mount and have it be somewhat modular if i wanted.
At this point, I have no...
Honestly, you could have called this the Car Camping Forums and I still would have joined because it has the info I am looking for. Terminology (in this case) IS gatekeeping.
I agree with Thundahbeagle. My '89 500c (20g) is built like a TANK. tight, solid walnut stock, My brother picked up a 2003 12g and it felt cheap. Ugly Birch wood, and if you shake it, it made all kinds of noise in the tube, and in the reciever. Nothing was made tight. Trying to sit for turkeys...
I am 3d printing a faceplate to mount everything in the lower cubby in my Subaru. Once I have it all installed I wll post pics. It wont be anytime soon. I have the design done, but my access to my 3d printer has been cut off for the time being... so I need a new machine.
One thing I like about the MXT275 is the remote Mic. I am working out mounting the body inside the dash and using a remote rj45 port in my dash for a very clean install.
I passed my Technician test this afternoon! Woo Hoo. (in person test, too!) I am hoping I have my callsign before fridays Net.---Then I have to figure out how to get on :)
Yes, they are actively logging all of the areas up there. Makes for good hunting. But man I hate year 1-5 its so damn thick with cherry its hard to get through.
Have you run Reynolds Spring Trail yet?
Next up for me is a dual battery setup or a Jackery 500. A dual setup may be cheaper and have more capacity. But a Jackery will have an inverter.
So my first next purchase will be a DC to DC charge Controller .Looking at the 20amp from Renogy.
I dont go leaf peeping, but this is where I do most of my hunting and rolling. I dont really understand why people go to rothrock and BSE when all this is here.
I know most of those roads very well especially closer to Leetonia.
I have been trying to get a local VE to reply back to my emails. ARRL is showing a walk-in testing date next week but i would really like confirmation first! I have been studying like crazy and I am ready!
Fly fishing gear is always packed. I dont fish as much anymore, I find myself interested in other things, but my brother is deep in the hobby. I will occasionally go with him. Where I live and have (easy) access to, I feel I have fished it all and want to see new. I know the fish dont care, how...
I have been teaching 3d printing for the last 3 years. I use Inventor to design most of my stuff. SInce the QT i havent had access to any of my printers, and I am teaching virtually for the forseeable future.... so I am probaly buying a printer soon.. I am going through withdrawl.
Im using the Offroading Gear brand off Amazon. I am amazed at how sturdy it is. It has stayed put through hundreds of miles of on road rainstorm, equal amounts of off road time too. The only problem so far is it is fading in the sun.
