I scavanged some 4 conductor USB wire and I bought an OEM backup camera off a crashed Trek on Ebay. I soldered the OEM connector to one end of the extension wire, added a 4pin waterproof connector on the other and ran the cam end through a grommet in the trunk floor. I made a simple mount out...
Those of you running heaters in your roof top tents- Don't you have horrible condensation issues? I can't even boil coffee water in my tent without major moisture in the winter.
Colorado is too popular right now. Home prices have skyrocketed near the cities and destination locations. I would choose Oregon in a heartbeat, given those two options.
Choosing your home based on political affiliations seems silly to me.
Iv'e had the Curt hitch on my trek for a couple years now. I have towed with it, I have snatched with it, I have banged on COUNTLESS rocks and it is ROCK SOLID. The only thing is the Anti Rattle bolts between my hitch and tire carrier loosen up after big rock bangs. I even relocated my backup...
Not hunting this weekend, but we are taking our new telescope out on Saturday night. Probably heading up to Loyalsock Rd where I know there is some Southern sky exposure. Probably take a nap in the roof tent until midnight and then wake up and freeze while we learn the new scope and software.
I built a dual battery system that is essentially a Jackery 1000 for well under $500
36ah AGM battery $70
20Amp Renogy DC-DC charger $110
1000w inverter $25 (Schumacher deal)
Assorted cables & connections $100 (crimping tool, 6AWG, Anderson disconnect)
I will be able to add an MPPT...

Do you carry both? I currently carry a Lithium jump box and a set of cables at all times. I am considering leaving the cables behind. I have never needed either, and now that I am building a dual battery system I dont expect to run into starting battery troubles. What is your preference?
Planning PA > Glacier > Olympic> Moab > RMNP> PA for Summer 2021. I am in the very early stages. I scrapped our MT trip last summer so I am really hoping this one happens. Our end goal was doing ocean to ocean this summer, and I would really like to camp at Second Beach in Olympic. I am meeting...
Your opinion on the number and quality of the states off roading has no bearing on the statement you made about going into closed places. If its closed, its closed. No matter the reason. Public or private. People who dont follow the rules ruin it for everyone and deserve penalties when caught.
You dont see the harm? But you dont know why that gate is closed?
I am not getting into some argument over this but obviously this is not the atitude I have.
Your last statement shows me your not interested in changing your view.
