  • Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

    Eclipse Photos

That makes it nice. We live right on the path of this one. Traffic here is a mess now, though. We had planned on not going anywhere today, but Rhonda is making BBQ sauce, and realized she forgot an ingredient. Took her 45 minutes to go 7 miles into town.

Still makes for an interesting shot through the clouds, though.

    What boots do members wear

Been wearing the Wolverine Wilderness hiking boot for a couple months now. I've worn Wolverines for work for years, and decided to give these a try. They're very comfortable, after about a week of break-in (which seems to be the norm for Wolverines of any style).

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Oil change. Converted to synthetic. This is the first vehicle I've ever used it in.

    Eclipse 2017

We're fortunate enough to live in the path. We live in a narrow little canyon, and the sun won't quite be above the trees yet, so we'll be going a few miles down the road to a nice wide open spot. I was planning to go find a spot in central Oregon, but then started hearing about how many...

    Overland Bound Emblems

Have you seen this thread? https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/where-did-you-install-your-ob-emblem.213/ It's currently 24 pages long, with plenty of photos. You might find some interesting ideas there.

HiLift jack: is it really needed?

The Wifey has been considering one of these mounts for her TJ. How do you like it? Does the door open all the way without hitting the jack?

    Stash A Stand?

Also, though I'm certainly no engineer, that seems like an awful lot of potential failure points. I wouldn't trust this to not drop my rig on my face while I was under it. (P.S. - LOLing at the $200 price tag.)

    Great / Not so Great...

I am loving this thread. We have a 6 day trip coming up in September, so I hope to have some things to contribute here upon our return. In the meantime, some of the things reviewed here have got me considering adding to or changing our kit a bit.

    Overland trip NorCal/Oregon

I grew up in Klamath Falls, and used to go to the Lava Beds once or twice a year. Loved all the exploring I could do underground. Haven't been there since I was in college, so I guess it's about time I go back.

    Overland Trash Systems

That's handy information to have. Thanks for that!

    Overland Trash Systems

I have an extra plano box on my roof rack. Trash goes in plastic yard bag, bag goes in box. When I get to a garbage can or dumpster that I can use, out it goes.
