    X-Bull Recovery Tracks...another inexpensive alternative

I'd be interested in hearing your experience with them. I'm debating between these and the Maxsa boards, though I'm leaning towards Maxsa at the moment.

OB Approved Introduction to Recovery equipment

Overkill is underrated, lol. The guy who taught me how to weld over-engineered everything (meaning not a scrap of engineering was used in any design process, ever), so I tend to do the same thing.

    Power Wagon Registry

I sold it long ago, but my first 4x4 was a '74 Power Wagon. She wasn't pretty, but she would go anywhere and climb everything.

    Little Red Campfire?

I'll check it out. Does it produce dust like 1Louder mentioned?

    Little Red Campfire?

Ah, good to know, thanks. That's the first I've seen that mentioned.

    Little Red Campfire?

Sorry, I missed this when you first replied. How are they messy? I was planning on keeping it in one of the action packers, probably.

    Biggest failure ever

Didn't leak check my tent before a camping trip. Sometime during the second night, it started raining. I woke up at about 3:30am in more than an inch of water. Everything was wet...clothes, sleeping bag, me, all of it. Threw my soggy duffel bag and sleeping bag back in my rig, threw the tent...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Installed a modified Harbor Freight hitch cargo rack in the back of my X. Got the idea from a thread on thenewx.org. The short version, if you don't want to jump to the thread, is I cut off the hitch tube so it was flush with the cargo basket, cut some 3/4" square tubing to size and mounted...

Newbie wants to try OBDR Route #3 - Tips?

I recently just heard of these myself. I already have most of my trips for this year planned, so probably won't try any until next year. But I'd be interested in reading about your experience when you go.

    What Jacket do you wear?

I tend to run mostly with my old army gear. I have a woodland gore-tex jacket that I acquired from my supply sergeant (in the army, supply and armory NCOs should be your two best friends), and my old heavy duty fleece that they issued before they switched to the lighter weight green ones. If...

    Homemade Solar Shower

Nice. I saw a similar video a month or so ago, and this has been on my to-do list since. Looks like yours turned out really well.

    Cpap and overland?

@jkxranger thanks for starting the thread, and thanks to everyone else for the input. This is one of the things I was going to need to tackle before my trip in September. Much appreciated.

    Cpap and overland?

Maybe that's the high end if pressure, humidifier, etc are all maxed out?

    Food on the trail

Usually either pack a sandwich, or the previous day's fried chicken from the grocery store deli. Then OJ, chips, etc.
