Expedition Overland season three premiere (Ep.1)

Just finished up season 2. It's been interesting watching skill levels and knowledge increase with experience. Also very interesting watching their interactions with local people where they go. As I recently mentioned in another thread, I'm rather introverted, so not sure that approach would...

What to do if you punch a hole in your fuel tank miles from nowhere

Same here. One of the reasons I bought the Pro-4X is that it comes with factory skids. They're not quite as good as some of the after market options, but they're a nice intermediate piece of kit until later. Even so, you never know when some stray rock or branch is gonna take a bite out of...

Question for fellow OB Nissan 2nd Gen Xterra Owners - Rear suspension bottoming out FIX?

What I'd prefer to do, in a perfect world, is install the lift and bumpers at more or less the same time. But that's a pretty spendy project. We'll see how it goes.

Question for fellow OB Nissan 2nd Gen Xterra Owners - Rear suspension bottoming out FIX?

Glad to see some feedback on this kit, as it is the one I've got my eye on. It won't happen until next year probably though, since we have to finish outfitting my wife's Jeep. Until then, I just went with their 2" spacer/AAL kit. Serves its purpose for the moment, but will need to be upgraded...

    Everyone's got one.

My license plate says I'll never have to pay the state a renewal fee again, lol.

    Won't leave home without it.

Go bag and firearm. Everything else is dictated by the trip.

What to do if you punch a hole in your fuel tank miles from nowhere

I've seen this used on an oil pan, not sure if it would work with gas. But Permatex makes something similar that's designed for fuel tanks. Might be what @Boort mentioned above. Never used it, so not sure how well it works.

I'm only 3 episodes into season 1, and I already want to do an Alaska trip, lol.

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

Yup, 10/22s rock. I've had mine for over 30 years, still shoots flawlessly.

Expedition Overland season three premiere (Ep.1)

I've never seen any of their videos. Just looked at their channel real quick, I will check them out.

So, why'd you buy the overland vehicle you did?

I didn't have overlanding in mind exactly when I bought my Xterra. A buddy of mine has one, and I liked it a lot. It was last winter, and I had decided I was going to buy one come summer. I had a very gutless, but fuel efficient, Mitsubishi Lancer with nearly 300,000 miles on it for my daily...

    Day Trip trails

Are you looking for anything challenging, or just a nice wilderness drive? Table Rock Wilderness Area just east of Molalla is a nice area, with mostly maintained dirt roads. All the potentially fun stuff is gated off by BLM, but it's a very pretty area and where we usually go for a quick...

    Playing Cards or Board Games

Phase 10 is a good card game. Dice for 10,000 as well.

    The Gatekeeper

First experience with a gatekeeper, when I was considerably younger, I misjudged the height and high-centered on the transfer case. Broke the rear driveline getting her loose. Tied it to a bracket with a shop rag and drove home in front wheel drive. That was a '74 Dodge Power Wagon, my first 4x4.

    October trip: Washington/Oregon/Nevada/Utah

While you're in the Jordan Valley area, consider Jordan Craters and the Pillars of Rome.
