+1 for Gaia GPS. I tried Backcountry Navigator, but didn't like it. Horrible UI.
RollMeOver is kinda neat, too. It's an inclinometer with some GPS functions, and also has several vehicle icons to choose from.
Might have to check that out, since it's (roughly) in my neighborhood. Didn't know that was filmed here. I don't care for musicals, so I've never seen it, but looks like a nice weekend trip.
Idaho has blue across the bottom, and the alpha-numeric pattern doesn't match theirs. Utah has one with red across the top, but also doesn't match the alpha-numeric pattern.
Currently using a Cannon EOS Rebel SL1 and my phone. Would like to get a GoPro, but due to budget concerns, will probably get a clone. I'd also love to get a drone, but I don't see that happening any time soon.
This is a Gerber Profile, which went to Iraq with me. Held up to a lot of use, and is a great little knife for the price. The sheath is rubbish, though. Gerber was kind enough to replace it for me when I got back, but I will be making a leather one for it soon-ish.

Do your dogs join you on the trail? If not, it only takes a minute to take out or put back in. You could leave it out when the dogs are with you, and put it back in when hitting the trails.
Finally got to see a couple of these in person, and those are not meant to be recovery points. Thanks to everyone for the responses. I had no doubts about ARBs quality, just wasn't sure if those were designed to be recovery points or not.
