    Just bought a SHIFTPOD.

I’ve had my Shiftpod 2 since they came out. It’s awesome but like every piece of gear has compromises. First is that it’s big and heavy when packed up. There are 2 sealable vent pipe holes on the sid and 2 smaller sealable cord holes for power runs. I think that due to the door size it...

Air Lift Suspension on a 200-Series LC - Where to find an installer?

There are jounce bumpers in the bags. Look into the travel with the bags before they contact the jounce bumpers befor you buy. On mine it is severely limited.

I have been happy with everything I’ve purchased from Eastwood.

Air Lift Suspension on a 200-Series LC - Where to find an installer?

Before you spend the money be forewarned that the bags may severely limit your suspension travel with their jounce bumpers. I’m removing mine I installed last summer. The ride is brutal and just not worth it in my book.

    Vehicle expedition prep

That’s a given, and whiskey/cigars. Life essentials. Alaska is the only State in the US I haven’t visited, I need to get there. Chubb’s Crater is the clearest water on the continent but it isn’t exactly easy to get to. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pingualuit_crater

Swap Stock Gas Tank for Long Range Tank Questions/Thoughts

The benefits are fewer stops between fill ups and it takes up space you normally wouldn’t use instead of filling your truck bed with fuel cans. I travel in places that filling stations can be sparse so my range is important. My F150 has a stock extended range tank which holds 35 gallons and I...

    97 GMC Suburban build

This is one of the best suburban I have seen. The only thing I would do is lose the light bars on the roof and put a winch in the bumper.

    Wheel Size?

If you think you may ever upgrade your brakes you might consider keeping the 18” rims depending on the stock sized brakes. Just one additional thing to consider.

OB Approved Hypothermia: What is it, How to treat and prevent it.

Awesome write up! One piece of kit I keep in my truck and recommend is the North American Rescue Hypothermia Prevention kit. https://www.narescue.com/nar-hypothermia-prevention-and-management-kit-hpmk This can be had on ebay and amazon for $25-35 frequently and contains a hooded reflective...

    Vehicle expedition prep

I absolutely will! Our team goal is to explore the surrounding area of Nain and perhaps find a guide to take us to Chubb's Crater the in 2019. I've been wanting to hit that area forever!

    On trail/camp Solar power?

That's pretty impressive! My goal zero panels(4 boulder 30s) do "ok" but they output no where near their specs if there is any kind of shade or haze. I'll have to research some of the newer panels. I've also had bad luck with the powerfilm? panels, the ones the military uses.

    Trophies, Badges, and Ranks!

If a trophy requires 3 threads started in Q and A, 10 posts in Q and A, and 40 likes do the likes have to come from the Q and A posts/threads or is it total likes?

What is your most versatile, cross-over type gear?

A high quality, lighter weight, long handled hatchet. Preferably around 1-1.5 lbs with a 19” handle. This can be used as a hammer, a knife, a splint, an axe, a light lever, if it’s polished a signaling mirror or help put your contacts in.
