    TOYOTA tundra trd pro

Welcome from another happy Tundra owner. Nice truck, capable platform for sure. Enjoy. (And enjoy "beast mode" if you haven't already learned this little tip - turn on your tow/haul and press the traction control button 3 times until it shows as traction control turned off on the small dash...

    Wheeling/overlanding solo

I'm not a huge fan of big groups, part of the reason we got set-up to get out into the wilderness. If it's not my Wife and i then I generally travel solo (or with the dogs). I did a solo (well, with the dogs) 2 week trip to Northern Vancouver Island this past summer and it was great. I think...

    Trail Security

Small air horns are popular up here now it seems. When I was on Northern Vancouver island last summer I carried one in my daypack (along with bear spray and a short shotgun) and I noticed most people I ran into had an air horn if nothing else. While big toothed and clawed animals seem to...

    Anyone explore Washington's Scablands?

I live not too far North here in Penticton BC, and we've traveleled and camped (glamped) in the area for a long time. In high school we even went on a day trip to the Grand Coulee Dam and got to tour around inside it. I also remember years back being able to still drive over the Grand Coulee...

    Trail Security

Each to his or her own, but I always have either a rifle or shotgun with us when camping, exploring, whateveryouwannacalliting while here in British Columbia. I generally take a short shotgun with me when hiking in the back country as well. I'm not going to judge those that have no interest in...

Man dies in off-roading crash at Seven Mile ORV Park

True enough. How does the comment go? "There but the Grace of Dog go I".......... I've done so many frivilous stupid things in my 50 years on this planet that turned out to not be anything,. In hindsight any one of a hundred of them could have led to my death ,serious injury, or even injury to...

Truck Camper Recommendations. Asking for a friend. Please help.

I would start by figuring out where he wants to go, like how far off the beaten path and how far up and down and into the mountains, etc. If he is going to be doing any decent off-roading thru tight spots, or 4Lo crawling type situations then I can't see any traditional consumer hard-sided...

    Camping Whisk(e)y?

I enjoy my bourbon. Right now I'd say my favorite is definitely the Woodford Reserve. A local liquor store also recommended I try the Glenalough Irish Whisky and I find it very good (and quite inexpensive). Forty Creek cream liquor is mandatory for camping , and a bottle lives in the camper...

    Gas/Diesel Availability

I have no real experience or edumacated opinions here. But EarthCruiser has switched to the 6 litre GM V-8 gas powered motor in their Fuso chassis for what it's worth. They must see something beneficial in a gas powered unit for world travel, over diesel.

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

I've wanted a nice lever action for as long as I can remember. I guess it goes back to watching cowboy movies with my Father as a kid, and he always remarked on how he wished he could have a lever action. He's been gone for a few years, but this past summer I decided to follow thru on my want...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

Personal insults regarding my level of stupidity aside, individuals that commit crimes with a firearm are not gun owners.... they are criminals. The furthest thing from a legal licensed gun owner in Canada. You don't want to own a firearm, that's ok by me. You don't want me to own firearms, well...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

Well, also being a Canadian, and a licensed gun owner I could take a little exception to your claim on the size of my balls. But we all need to laugh at ourselves every now and then so I'm all good on you balls vs gun vs non-gun comparisons. Having said that, as I mentioned I'm also a very proud...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

In The States, I used to prefer Tillamook, but now believe Umpqua ice cream is superior and damn tasty. Back home, up here in Canada, my favorite is Chapman's Premium ice cream for sure. And I'm a firm believer in concealed carry of ice cream, regardless of where I am. Sharing ice cream should...

NWOR to BCOR - Looking for Canadian Input

I don't know much about the Harrison Lake area, but their are quote a few dispersed camping sites up the Silver Skagit Road along the river (just south of Hope). Hwy 1 North of Hope to Lytton is beautiful, Hwy 12 to Lillooet is pretty nice, and Hwy 99 west to Pemberton is just epic. I know...
