It's our main cooking surface, and only outdoor cooking option we now bring along. We have a 2-burner stove in the camper for cooking with pots, but the skottle gets used pretty much every camping trip and meal. It wasa well-worth investment for us. I just bought a hose adapter and run it from...
If you still have the RZR I'd recommend a camping weekend in Conconully, WA. You can park it in front of the Conconully State Park, then drive through town (a very little one street town) from there up into all the trails. FYI. The WABDR goes rgiht through Conconully, and it's a great little...
I carry an 8-ton bottle jack all the time, and the Hi-Lift when I'm off-roading. I have a camper on full time and always have leveling blocks to put the bottle jack on if need be. I also carry a set of aluminum jack stands to put under the truck.
We camped in the campground in the middle of the town (can't recall the name but their is only one). It was perfect. Great people all around to chat with, good laundry services, and we liked being able ot just park for a couple days and walk around Dawson City. We ordered pizza from Joe's and...
If it were me, I'd try to take a down day in Dawson City if at all possible. Its a brilliant little town, amazing people and cool stuff to see everywhere.
I just bought a Bucket Boss Super tool roll. It's been great so far. It holds all my regular hand tools. I also carry a separate duffel bag with all my recovery gear, extra fasteners, tape, wire, lubricants and such, lightweight jackstand and that sort of thing.
Love the camper. Best decision we ever made. No issues in cold weather at all. Had a little snafu with the furnace last week (a sensor was dusty from last year's trip up The Dempster and it wouldn't ignite, but once I cleaned it all was fine). Travels great on the highway, and we can still...
I wanted a full size gas powered truck. I have no interest in diesels, and wanted something that had a proven pedigree and excelled in reliability. I wanted to buy a truck and drive it, not worry about it having to be "in shop again"....ever. I picked a 2014 Tundra Double Cab and haven't looked...
I live in South Central BC. I can be on a dirt forestry road within 15 minutes of leaving home. Can either be camped at a remote lake no more than a1/2 hour from there, or spend the next 200+km traveling on dirt roads to find other places of interest without ever touching pavement. I do my best...
I have the ARB single on my Tundra, to inflate the tires, and I'd go for the ARB dual for certain if I had to do it again. I had the ARB single from my old Xterra so that's why I installed it. It works great, but I'd like to cut down on re-inflating time a little.
The same Dec. 31, 1969 one is in my inbox as well. I was only 4 months old at the time, so I hardly could be expected to remember that conversation. When I clock on it, I get the "oops, we've run into a problem" reply. Can't delete it or act on it otherwise.
We have a travel rewards Visa and everything goes on it. It gets paid in full every month and we net at least $1K a year in travel rewards, which we usually put towards motels and hotels on various trips. I carry a couple other credit card,s just for back-up or if we encounter a very expensive...
That's the upper stope at the French Mine in the Similkameen. From what I hear they have blocked it off due to vandalism. The whole area is fantastic. The Mascot Mine is probably the most famous old mine in the area.
We came back down from Tuk last July and took part of Hwy4 (the Robert Campbell Hwy) but we decided to detour down the South Canol Rd at Ross River. I'd suggest looking at that option if you are able. The South Canol Rd is desolate and stunning.
Molson is an amazing place to visit. Back when the border took a back seat to the men who built railroads and towns. If you look at a Google satellite shot of the Molson area, you can see faint outlines of the old spiral railway as it makes its way up from the valley below.
I live about an hour...
Our rig (truck/camper)is fairly well set-up and stocked the majority of the time. So for basic delays and such, we are fairly well prepared. I can/do carry 26 gallons of water on board, have 2 or 3 10 pound propane tanks, as well as usually a weeks worth of food and stuff. we carry the basics...
