Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

I am not interested in starting a shouting match, but am all on board for a sensible debate. Having said that, please provide actual scientific data that shows how keeping any legal semi-automatic rifle (including an AR-15 or variant) out of the hands of law abiding licensed Canadian gun...

    Any experience with Ironman 4x4?

I installed their suspension componenets on my old Xterra quite a few years ago. I had no issues and the parts performed as expected. I's say the y would have compared to OME stuff. The Ironman Canada dealer at the time was in the process of closing when I ordered (no idea why). I got a great...

Finding a balance between camping and driving.

We live in Penticton, and the Similkameen Valley area between Keremeos and Princeton is about my favorite place in he world.

Finding a balance between camping and driving.

We did a 3 week 8500+km trip North 2 summers ago now. We are both early risers, so we normally try to get moving by about 8am and plan to be at least looking for a camp spot by 1pm, and to be parked and relaxing by no latert than 3pm on any given day. Their are exceptions, based on a timetable...

Post a Picture That Defines Overlanding For You

My views are 2-fold I guess. First off, are the stories my Mother told me of the adventures my Grandparents took her on thru northern Africa and elsewhere as a kid. My Grandfather was one of those larger than life adventure type souls. As kids we would sit in awe and listen to his tales and...

What coffee do you drink at home vs off grid?

Usually Melita Dark roast, grind the beans when at home and buy it already ground when camping. Brew camp coffee in the Moka Express only. I love my coffee and over the years we've tried many, many other forms of brewing and multiples of other fancy expensive coffees and we keep coming back to...

    Stay Safe/Stay Strong

Stay safe and healthy neighbors. We will see all those Alberta plates back in the Okanagan once we are on the other side of this.

Nissan FS vs Toyota FS why is Toyota preferred?

Previous to my Tundra I had an Xterra. it was an absolute beast of a vehicle, reliable, lots of power, no issues ever. When I decided to purchase a full size truck, the previous gen of the Titan had just been replaced with the new one. I didn't want to buy an obsolete truck, and did not want to...

I am planning a trip from Michigan to Seattle along i90, Tips?

I'd ditch I90 in Missoula and head to Lolo then take Hwy 12 West. Depending on the time of year (and it may be too early in April), but I'd at least check to see when the North Cascade Hwy opens (Hwy20 from the Okanagan Valley over to the PNW).

    Fuel

Do you have the gas cap wrench? I keep mine cranked on pretty well, and have never smelled gas from either of my MFC's, regardless of swelling from heat or being bounced around off-roading.

    Fuel

A bonus of living in Canada, since the Scepter MFC's are all made here, we do get them for a fair price.

    Fuel

Scepter MFC's. Hands down the best fuel container made. I have 2, beat the heck out of them, they deal with extreme heat and cold with no issues, and have an internal vent that allows you to empty the whole container in no time. I've stored them upright and in their sides for thousands of miles...

What to do In the off season.

I guess so. But I really enjoy snowshoeing, low impact, my kind of speed, and we still get to enjoy the outdoors. And the dogs force us to get into the snow in the winter anwyas.

What to do In the off season.

We try to keep occupied in the winter months. Still manage to get some camping in, and combine it with snowshoeing or winter hiking. When in doubt we do still Netflix and hibernate at home.
