I air my 33's down in winter a little bit. The one thing I worry about is going highway speeds for extended periods of time, so I air up prior to big trips.
(under inflated tires can overheat and cause blowouts and /or tire fires - usually only see this on big rigs)

Regarding cots.... we have a set of bunk bed cots for the kids... and the wife and I just sleep on a 3 inch self inflatable.

I'm in the process of slimming down my gear. Over the years we have gotten all kinds of "good stuff" that we figured we needed but in reality never (or rarely) use. For instance we had a great camp kitchen setup...
No propane powered heater is 100% safe in an enclosed area. I've use my Buddy heater in my tent as well... but a large dose of caution is required. It IS fire inside a tent/vehicle after all.

I also put a normal toque (knitted cap for you non-Canucks) over top of the balaclava and then my parka hood over top of all that.
I typically sleep with the balaclava on too. The version that has the nose covered works better than the large round hole version. I prefer the large round...
