I had the opportunity to head out into the bush... So I took it. (I really need to get out of the city, I'm sure many of you can understand that)
If anyone is interested in joining I will be meeting up with a crew at Deacons corner at 1430.
(Today)
It sounds like it will be some mild'ish...
This week isn't going to work for me after-all..... so I will be unable to make it to the Sunday Nov 4th meet+greet at Pony Corral.
Feel free to organize amongst yourselves.
I'm very sorry for the short notice.
Vehicle specific forums are always a great source of information for your exact vehicle and it's quirks. Whether it's a jeep forum or tacoma forum or FJ forum, etc. Some have been around for years and have accumulated piles of info.
For my FJ it's fjcruiserforums.com
For Overlanding...
For now I think we should stick with a location we have gone to previously.... Pony Corral on Nairn. We've had a few good turnouts and it's easy to get to (Plessis). It's got a very large parking lot and also a very large lot at the funeral chapel nearby (closed in the evening... hopefully...
I would be up for that again as well.... what dates do people have available?
The following dates at the end of October and beginning of November is what I have available....
Oct 25 (Thursday)
Nov 3-6 (nothing planned yet that I know of)
Learn to delegate.
My kids pitch in and help when we're setting up camp. Sometimes it's as simple as put a tent peg at every point that I will need one. They're getting bigger now so they stuff their own sleeping bags and break down their cots as well.
Sometimes it's all about...
Yep... lots of different types of snow and the terrain under it is also a factor. Always try to take a second or perhaps third rig for when you get stuck (not if, lol). Winches are invaluable when the traction is almost at zero too.
(sorry for the hijack)
Looks good to me...
I need to downsize and/or get a RTT to simplify my life so I can get out more. What I have doesn't work too well... took me about 3 hrs to set up this tent... too big for just a night or 2 and without my family.
Which leads me to my next difficulty... finding someone else...
That's the Australian McHitch

My advice would be to take a few different pairs.... the key is to always be dry.
(examples only... there are lots of different brands out there that are good)
Simple Mechanix gloves ( https://www.mechanixwear.ca/ )
... but also a pair that are warmer ( https://www.kombicanada.com/ )
It never...
I clear it.
The trails I go down there are no "authorities".
I have the proper equipment and training to use it.
The above post about the tragic chainsaw accident is a horrible thing to happen to a man and to the people that love him. I've come close and subsequently I wear chainsaw chaps...
Some pretty thorough responses already. Reminds me of the responses from first aid classes/courses.
I'll just emphasize pressure on a bleed... crazy glue is also a good way to seal up a cut if you have it.
Sounds like that person would need to sit down pretty soon too as they seem to freak...
