Yep... once you get the kiddo in the wild he/she may spend hours just watching the ants crawl around.
Don't overthink it and definitely don't be too worried.
And remember.... boredom doesn't kill kids!! Builds character.
They will "act" bored for maybe 5 minutes and then when you don't give...
Over an open fire with a swing-away grate.
Adverse weather and we cook with a camp stove and have something different.
If it's a primarily meat supper (steak, dogs, etc) it's on the fire... pasta, etc is on the camp stove.
We are typically out for a number of days and have a varied menu.
We all do the best we can to be prepared ("we" as in people like us on Overlandbound and in this thread).
At the end of the day though.... if it was 100% safe we wouldn't be doing it.
"Nothing fun in life is safe"
1 thing I also did is shrink-wrap the end with some heavy duty shrink wrap for heavy cables like welding cables.... I used red to blend in with the red tip.
Previously I lost the rubber protective end a few times due to trees, etc. and this has remedied this issue for me.
Sunday Dec 9th there will be another get-together.
We'll be hitting a trail east of Whitemouth and then going to Fionns on Grant for supper.
It takes about an hour and a bit to get to the trailhead (known as Polycor road)
Departure: 1230 at the Transcona Country Club parking lot
We'll roam...
The biggest issue I've seen with electric vehicles is heat. Electric cars/trucks use electricity to produce heat... and not very efficiently. As we all know producing heat with electricity takes a lot! This greatly reduces the range... but is rarely mentioned.
And I can only imagine how it...
It's your guys' call for this meet... I'm not taking lead on this one this time due to other plans.... just let everyone know where you guys are going so they can join... and I'll also try to join up at some point but it's not looking good for me, lol.
I'm sitting currently in the Trans Canada Brewing company beside Luxe BBQ store..... They have some nice long tables here and the pizza looks great.
This could be an option for the future as well.
I got notified by @Mixednuts59 that a December 2nd evening would work for him. I have supper plans so I can attend later if it's still going.
Anyone else interested in this? I won't be there in the beginning so I would need someone to ramrod this for me.
That Hiker Trailer has a few things that would absolutely NOT work here.
The main thing that popped out at me immediately was the cabinet door from the inside to the outside. There is no screen on it. I can only imagine the amount of bugs that would end up in the sleeping area when the back is...
Lets start organizing for weekend of Dec 1,2.... which day would people prefer?
That's a Saturday and Sunday.
I am also available the Monday and Tuesday... (3,4).
I am not available Dec 2.
