Hiya @merrill653, welcome to Overland Bound and a preemptive welcome to the PNW. Where will you be moving to? There are members all over the PNW, so it is likely that you will be nearby someone from Overland Bound. It may be helpful to get to know the people in the area. For that I recommend...
Welcome to Overland Bound, @RainCityRider. That is a great looking setup! One of the great things about overlanding in Washington is that there are trails good for every vehicle type and experience level. Plus, there is so much to see that you can spend a year out there and never be bored...
Welcome to Overland Bound, @achiprez! I am actually in Vancouver, WA this week for work. It is a nice city and you are SO right about being close to all sorts of adventure. There are a number of members in the Vancouver/PDX area, so I recommend heading over to our Overland Bound NorthWest...
Hiya Patrick and welcome to Overland Bound from just up the road in Ferndale, WA.
I'm sure your local Member Rep, @Gabriel Bozeman, will be along shortly to welcome you and invite you out to a meetup, so I'll leave that for him. There are a number of great overlanding events occurring...
Both the Rugged Ridge and the Vector Offroad have a 1" rail. the RAM X-Grip handlebar U-bolt mount that I linked above adjusts from 0.5" to 1.25", and tightens down perfectly on the bar. If you are looking to add other accessories or just piece it together and just want the base, you have...
Welcome to Overland Bound Joe (@Joe Schrater) from up north. I'm actually headed down your way tomorrow for work (Vancouver, WA). Sorry to hear that your Taco was crunchy... (too soon?)
Where did you take your Odyssey to? The Gifford Pinchot National Forest, right in your back yard, is a...
Welcome aboard @CrazyNavy-Vet and thank you for your service.
Your SCAR looks like it is coming together nicely and I hope you will share with us more about what you have done and what you plan to do with it. I am particularly interested in how those saddlebags work for you. My wife and I...
This is just awesome! I salute you, @BAMbam90 for being a fun loving parent and teaching your kids about the excitement that adventure can bring.
I think it would be fun to do an adult version of this... *starts plotting*
This is a great write-up! Thank you for sharing your experience with this, @1Louder. Your list of items to communicate is great, the only thing I would change is on 2. make it choices of: Injury; Mechanical; Injury & Mechanical. That frames the rest of the communication.
Hi @Dave K! Overland Bound is divided up by Regions to help people in a similar geographical area communicate and coordinate. You are in the U.S. West (HI CA NV) Region and @Narbob is your Regional Director. Your region's forums can be found under the North America section [link]. I hope...
The answer will depend on your type of adventuring. Do you take extended trips that require longer than 48hrs of cooling more than you take trips with more technical trails? If so, get the fridge. If not, get the suspension.
Hiya Travis and welcome to Overland Bound. First and foremost, thank you for your service! Hopefully you will be stationed here in beautiful Washington to get to really explore just how incredible the PNW can be. Anyway, as @Gabriel Bozeman already suggested, the Overland Bound NorthWest...
Welcome to Overland Bound, @Whiskey Hill. Oregon is a beautiful state to explore with the family and I am glad that you are getting back into doing it. Taking the little ones out into nature can create a respect for the outdoors and a desire for adventure that will last a lifetime. There are...
I picked up a Coleman Roadtrip with a melted handle for $0. Found a replacement lid/handle for $25 on eBay. We used it at NWOR for the first time and it worked great to cook our kalbi ribs... but as far as packing it, it is a little big and bulky for most of our trips. It's tough finding a...
This is what my wife and I use... no platform needed. Just make sure the front seats are all the way forward to ensure you have the maximum room and the rear seat heads lay flat. Also, fill the air mattress in place, don't fill it then try to squeeze it in.
Welcome to the Overland Bound community, @Rubinot06! That is a very nice and clean looking TJ-L. I'd love to see pictures of the trailer and how your rig looks without the tent/awning on it, so please share! Pierce County has a lot of Overland Bound users and members in it and lots of access...
