    What do we really need?

I'm sure the advertising and general increased manufacturing of accessories affects what is perceived as a need, for sure. Social media influencers have cool toys and we begin to think we need stuff to go outside. All we need is something to drive, somewhere to go, and a few basic essentials to...

Howdy big rig crew! After 10 years adventuring around in a 3rd gen 4Runner, I picked up a new full-size rig this weekend. She's a '95 Chevy Suburban k2500 and I'm stoked to get working on it. The engine, transmission, and drive train have all been well maintained by the previous owner. After...

    New baby boy coming soon!

Many congratulations! My wife and I have adventured around with newborns before and it just takes a little extra prep work. My recommendations would be first and foremost to make sure you are comfortable, which may mean less nights out, using different sleeping gear and some extra packing...

US Rocky Mountain Northern Utah Meetup

Makes complete sense. My apologies if I caused any frustration with my previous remarks. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Rally point has 7 RSVPs and we may have two or three more spontaneous attendees. Head count of 10 should be plenty.

    Sure thing. Here you go!

    Storage boxes.

I just picked up two 108qt Plano trunks on sale from Home Depot for $15 each and they came with a rubber seal in the lid. I'll be trying them out next week to see how well they work, but I'm happy with them so far.

I should be able to make it. What can I bring? Maybe a side dish or dessert?

2020 Goals? What do you wish to Accomplish in 2020?

I've got three trips planned for 2020 (two family, one solo). I also want to get my ham operator license and fix all the broken stuff on my trailer. Really, I just want to see more of the world around me instead of passing by it on the freeway all the time.

US Rocky Mountain Northern Utah December Meetup

Hi Matthew and welcome! I'm pretty new myself. So far, the meetups have been on the second Thursday of each month starting at 6:00 PM, but I've seen several other activities like trail rides and outings on the weekends.

    Overlanding/camping with a CPAP machine

Same here. A good deep cycle battery and the $50 DC adapter has worked well for me going on 6 years now.

For those just getting started in the overlanding lifestyle

This is excellent advice. A mixing bowl. That’s what I wished I had on my last trip and what I added when I got home.

    My basecamp water container

We use the 7 gallon jerry can style by reliance with the same spigot. It’s been great for our needs. I especially like that spigot is easy enough for my 3 year old to fill a cup with.

Where did you install your OB emblem?

Added mine today. I love it!

Cancelled Northern Utah OB Meet & Greet - Reoccurring Monthly

It was my first meetup so I don’t have much to compare to, but I had a great time. There was a solid turn out and we had fun at the end tackling the ‘B’ hill after watching several locals back down it. I’m looking forward to going again!

LOL, very smooth! I’ll post some more after some upcoming trips and projects.
