We use ground tents but no screen tents. Hasn’t been a problem for us, but it probably helps that my kids are usually covered in about 1/8” dirt layer.

One of my wife's interests is family history/genealogy. We include stops to places like cemeteries where she can look up ancestors or take photos for find-a-grave. In general, I involve her in the planning before we leave so there are stops to look forward to, which helps for the kids, too...

I keep the hi-lift on hand because it has a lot of other uses, too. Spreading things, lifting, hand winching stuff, using the handle to extend socket handles, resetting a trailer that slid off a block, a makeshift traction board one time, fight off bears, replacement cot end piece, and on and on..
