    Help sizing an Inverter

Check the chargers you plan to use, many electronic items require a Pure Sine Wave inverter. I use a 1k PSW unit and it covers everything I may use. Look for some Black Friday deals.

Would you choose Colorado or Oregon?

Orygun has the coast, sand dunes, mountains, and desert. Politics are funny in the I5 corridor. Don't let 12 sq blocks of down town PDX define the state.

    Best for me?

I have HAM, GMRS and CB, it's not bery difficult to find yourself in a area with no reception. The Garmin InReach is best safety device available. Most my trips are 1-3 days, I leave a itinerary with friends, mostly use GMRS if others are in the group.

    Essential Solo Overland Recovery Gear

When I first read this I thought that it was way over the top. I re-read it and realized that it's a list of what I have in my Decked system and what I carry for a 3 day trip. I can add spare tie rod ends, spare cv axle, serp belt, oil, trans fluid. I need to get some brake fluid for the...

Best Rig to Start a Build

The most capable vehicle on your list would be the Colorado ZR2. The #1 user complaint is the trans shudder, there is a TSB that fixes it. As far as Toyo reliability you need to read the Toyo forums before believing that, plus Toyo just recalled over 5 million rigs with faulty fuel pumps. I've...

    Truck Camping with Jeep Gladiator

If you would like more bug free room take a look at the Slumberjack roadhouse tarp. I have a similar setup, Softopper on a 6ft bed, roadhouse doubled my dry space.

Hard to beat the BaoFeng for features and cost. I picked up a pair of Midland FRS/GMRS used for $30, nice to have to let others use.

    ZR2 antenna routing

I run a lot of over grown trails and I need a removable antenna. I use a mag mount and run the cable thru the door jamb. Most guys I know use FRS/GMRS, I have a portable hand held CB , Midland 75-822, when needed. As you know we don't have a ton of room in these Colorado cabs and I didn't...

Your off road bump stops are getting popular on the ZR2 forums, I've had mine just over a year now and very happy with them.
