Tried to go down this last weekend, but the storm closed the passes, both Tehachapi and the Grapevine, from the Valley to that side of the mountains by the time we got to Bakersfield. Bummer. That said, anyone going later this Spring will probably get a nice treat.

I used to use Relive for bike rides when it sync’d with another app. I sometimes still use it because it’s pretty cool to see your trips on a 3D map.

I have a gazelle T4 and a major selling point for me was being able to stand up in it. And with the taller walls, it just felt a lot more spacious and a Sierra Designs tent I had before, which was also roomy but not as tall.

It was great seeing new faces on Saturday. Hoping for some cool adventures this year.

That's a great loop. Did it last summer. One of the roads they could take to cut across is the Hwy 162 out of Willows. There are several camping spots along the way. it runs the southern portion of the loop. It turns into Alder Springs Rd/Forest hwy 7/Mendocino Pass Rd. as you get to Eel River...

Since you're going to be up near Eureka, I'd recommend Fern Canyon. It's a cool hike, and has some movie history to it. Also keep in mind it's quite a trek from the Rubicon to the North Coast(between Santa Rosa and Eureka) with only a few roads cutting over from the Central Valley to the coast.

There's a coffeeshop right there where we can meet inside if it's cold, though often times we meet outside and look at vehicles and new things on them.
