I added the route. I think we should be good as far as snow goes, though we might hit some. depending on how much will fall between now and then. If there's less snow when we get there, than I think we can go higher.
I'm no electrician, but I recently installed a house battery in my camper after researching it ad nauseam, and that wiring diagram scares me. lol
Why is there a fuse on the ground from the battery? and is that inverter just tapping into the line there? and why doesn't it have a fuse...
I also want to add that the inReach has a UI app, Earthmate, that I like. Makes it a lot easier to communicate using your phone to type a message than the little buttons on the device.
Holding people accountable happens after the fact and doesn't prevent the damage done, the intervention needs to happen before the damage is done. Education will only help those that care but don't know. Rental companies easily supply those folks with access. So I think some of the...
I don't see why it wouldn't work. Plus you can make it whatever size you want. I haven't done it, but I have been thinking about it too. My Little Red is ok and I've even changed the regulator to pump out more juice, but when it's really cold I would like a bit more heat to stick around.
Instant coffee packs - I like Wildland Coffee. They use tea bags to hold the grounds. Pretty decent coffee too.
Hand warmers, or anything else to stay warm (gloves, scarves, balaclavas, etc)
Set of utensils, or dishes or cookware.
the eating something before you eat idea is interesting. never really thought about that as a way to generate heat. although, when I eat before bed I will wake up super early very hungry. as in the hunger pangs will wake me. hmmm.
for me, the challenge is getting out of the warm sleeping bag...
I hope this worked out. I was going to say park in Sausalito and take the ferry across. Or maybe park in Fort Mason or the Marina and then take public transportation.
The plan is to alternate between Sonoma and Napa each month. I'm out of town that weekend and couldn't host in Sonoma, so it's in Napa again. For many folks, one is always going to be better than the other. This seemed like the best compromise.
Were you able to make the whole loop? Last summer a group of us did that route but there was a slide just north of Eel River Campground on the M1. It was totally impassable. Has that been cleared? We had to backtrack on Espee Ridge Rd.
This. ^^^
I have a gladiator on 35"s but with a pop-up camper. I've done a bit of "wheelin" and "crawlin" in it but it's not really my jam. It's fun for a bit, at least until my back starts hurting. But really, it's just tooo slow. But I learn my truck's, and my driving ability's, limitations...
It’s huge. Whereabouts are you entering? On the south end, I like Bear Creak campground. Also Hull Mountain, the Blue Hills, there’s the MDT for a multi day run. Lots of stuff in there.
At last month's meet-up I met with @TrlMixx and we got to talking about alternating meet-up locations between Sonoma and Napa every other month. He's offered to help coordinate the meet-ups there. This makes some sense since a number of folks live in Napa, and I've talked to folks that have come...
