Rick,
I normally change 2 times a year due to the offroading that I organize. This year I decided to put the original wheel arches back on because of the screws rusting, I want to find a better solution. I do Agree Rick, there's always something to do. I just walked over to the post office and...
I'm unable to keep the RTT on the landy as I do use it for offroading but it is on for about 5 months of the year.
Well my list seems to be getting shorter, the airlift bags are in and I changed the extented wheel arches back to the originals.
So typical when I putting the tools away...
As I was under the landy today attacking an endless list of things to do, it got me wondering if I'm alone with the endless amounts of things to be done before the prime seasons for adventuring?
Normally I set my landy up in to two modes, offroading and adventure. I just finished my Småland...
The sensation that you get when a gust of wind from h@ll comes along and seems like it's lifting the entire truck really impressed the wife, to the point that it was my fault.:grin:
That wind did bend 2 of the spring rods for the rain cover to the point that they looked like hockey...
I 100% agree with Scott.
Couldn't sleep the entire night when we were in high winds even with positioning the rtt into the wind. What was recommended to us and what we do now is carry a tent as back up if ever the rtt failed or we are in high winds again.
That's a personal choice, and a lot of driving. We like hiking so for us when we were in Northern Norway we took the time to visit the 3 country boarder for Russia/Finland/Norway and to be honest I'd recommend that hike.
Up at Nordkapp, another nice hike is to Knivsjellodden which is...
Driving through Sweden especially the northern parts you'll see nothing but forest, a lot of forest! When here I would suggest that you drive Vildmarksvägen which starts in Strömsund.
https://wildernessroad.eu/en/home This road has the highest concentration of brown bears in all of Sweden.
Todd.
Fv258 is two way traffic but narrow in places. Google maps can be a pain when planning trips, Fv243 is a good example, it showed you just at the lower section of the route.
I know what your saying Nick, I have a RHD Land Rover that the wife REFUSES to drive it, so it's basically a road trip for me. But we did get a few nice hikes in, varying from 10 ~ 30 kms. There's just soo much to see and experience and so little time. Going back to Norway has become a yearly...
I see on one of your maps that you will skirting around Jotunheimen National Park, did you know the highest road in Norway is there which is over 1840 meters. Google it.
You weren't visiting Geiranger which is a popular tourist area with some nice hiking trails, but south of Geiranger...
We were traveling south, til Maela therefore I say Yes do as you suggested above. The few ferries north of Maela are not too expensive, something like 2~400 Nok per vehicle. Following Fv17 south of Maela is known as the tourist route, lots of ferries and way too many motorhomes on the road. The...
Hej ttephotos
I've done a similar trip in 2016 with my Land Rover which we did it over 18 days travelling approx 7200km. I've taken a quick look at your travel plans and do have a few suggestions. Up at Nordkapp you plan to drive over to Havöjsund (written wrong because I'm using a Swedish...
Here's my channel here in Southern Sweden. Nothing professional but a good glimpse into the kind of offroading that I get into when I'm not working or traveling and camping with the Landy.

Hej Vidar,
we stayed at a road side rest stop in Glomfjord in July 2016. Beautiful location.
If you were looking at a map, directly north of Glomfjord in Storvik we drove over an unused mountain pass, absolutely stunning view and location.....of course we didn't take any pictures...
Here in Sweden I find cell coverage hit and miss at best and I have Telia who have the monopoly here. The above map I don't trust, I can drive 10 km in any direction from my house to find a dead spot. That map will mislead you to believe that there is 100% coverage here when there's not...
