Had a long day scouting yesterday in Bald Eagle State Forest for an off road Subaru event in the spring. She performed admirably as you can see in the picture doing her best "Jeep wave" impersonation. Had to do some customizing to add my high lift jack base to the rack, added a 3rd "multi" tool...
Welcome! and nice pic Sandwagon.
Feel free to ask questions about any of your plans. I already have most of the mods from your planned list and am still debating on my winch/bumper options.
Love it. At some point I plan to pick up an inReach SE to take the place of my Dual 150 external gps. I don't need/want the Explorer since I only use it for my iPad which I generally run Gaia and Scenic Map on. For the price the Dual 150 works fantastic, has great battery life, and is VERY...
Haha no worries. So what's next for yours?
Very nice. There's still a few members I know of who have yet to post on this thread but overall there's a good number of us on here. I've been pleasantly surprised to see the number of Subaru owning members grow.
No reason to change them early. I recently talked to a guy who just had to replace a front at 60k on his 5th gen so just run them until they're toast. By then we'll all have a better idea on axle options.

Picture is from the Skyway but I have plenty from the Dragon as well. I absolutely love the entire area down there! Used to make it down once a year but its unfortunately been a few since.
I'm familiar with the hitch gate. Unfortunately I don't like any of the hitch options for the Outback because of the way they take away from the departure angle. I'm planning a custom 'in skin' bumper that will have the receiver as well as recovery points coming through the OE bumper. While I'm...
Hey man. As you already know I'm close by and try to get out on the trails whenever I can. Unfortunately a lot of trails around us are presently gated but there are open ones. We have a Mtn Roo Mid Atlantic weekend event in/around Bald Eagle State Forest in the spring but will be making a trip...
Thank you for the suggestion. I did notice it in your pic and it does look great but as you can see from my CAD drawing I don't have the room for it. The red in the pic represents my Rotopax gas/water and the yellow my traction jacks which will actually mount over the Rotopax and hinge away for...
