Based on my experience I'd say yes since its still sticking to my chrome window trim and grille surround and all I did was wash it with fancy car wash soap. I do have some chips in the grille but I know paint would have taken much more damage after a couple years of highway travel.
Thank you and that's great news! Another sweet long roof returns to the road. There were a million opportunities for amazing pictures yesterday but my son and wife were ready to go haha.
One last snowy pic from yesterday. My reason for sharing it is to show just how much clearance my wagon has...
Subaru weather is finally here! Took the wife and son out for a drive and to take in some sights. I've never seen this dam empty in my life so I had to take some pics.
Couldn't find spacers in the width/hub/pattern that I needed in black so I had to give the 1" H&R spacers a touch of it. Call me OCD but that would have driven me crazy haha.
Went hunting for a Christmas tree. First year going to this tree farm and they informed us that to access the fields...
I'm impressed by its durability. I dipped the wheels on my Outback shortly after I bought it. They looked the same after a couple salt belt winters and 31k when the RPF1's went on. Proper coating thickness and number of coats make a big difference.
Installed 1" H&R spacers and had to remove my Rally Armor flaps due to new interferences in the front wheel wells. Have some more trimming/adjusting to do as I still rub a little bit... Ugh. Also gave the wagon a half decent bath. I always think it's funny to see all the dirt/mud that comes out...
Those are good looking rigs Rob
and Steve. While Steve may have moved on to the Yota world I can't wait to see the places you take your Scoob @Robert Rosendahl. I have to admit that it was the 2005-09 Outback that made me want one. New member @Skemcin has a prime example and he's been making me...
I use Fourtreks mounts with quickfists. Fourtreks only use a single tube so that's not an issue for your application. To secure my #murderspork and pulaski I presently use a gun lock that passes through holes in the handles and the rack itself.
Welcome and nice Subaru @Forester06! With the plans you have I'm looking forward to seeing it grow. Feel free to include yourself in this thread https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/subaru-owners-registry.3450/
If you're looking at baskets I'd go with a Yakima Load Warrior over the Thule. To each their own but I went through the same process a couple years ago. To me the Thule is designed to be on top of a vehicle all the time and used whenever. I say this based on the obvious aero design. Conversely...
I think it's definitely a nice thing to have but certainly not necessary. If the situation were to arrise they would keep you going compared to not having them. As a result only slowing you down because of a winch/pull moment. Admittedly there are situations where having them would be safer but...
I'm jealous.. There's a snow balls chance in Key West that I could ever fit my 5th wheel/tire in there. Even deflated an OE sized tire still doesn't fit so now I have a place for my tools, custom jack, recovery gear, etc.. under the floor.
Thanks for sharing vicali and Luis! The Forester is definitely a popular platform and can be impressively built as @FozRoamer has shown. I almost bought a Crosstrek but was worried about the size. I still love them though and new member @GypsyTreker uses hers as Subaru intended. I also love what...
I presently use it with a Dual 150 external GPS but will switch to a Delorme unit at some point. Gaia is awesome in its own right as well. I'm happy having them both.
