I'm going to drive up to High Point this weekend and see what will be a good spot.
We will stick with the 6th for now. As a raincheck we will plan on the 13th. If that makes it so more can attend, we will move it to then.
I'm working on finding a place for the monthly meets. Currently looking...
Hey guys, we are trying to get a monthly OB meet going in central NJ.
I am planning a kickoff event for it Saturday May 6th. Go here to check out the thread https://overlandbound.com/forums/threads/central-new-jersey-monthly-meet-kickoff.6149/
Hope to see you all there. Keep your eyes on it...
I can comment on the F150 bit. Yes the Raptor is very cool, however I won't buy one for overlanding. If I were to do it all over again, and staying with the f150, I would buy another Fx4 with factory 3.73s and rear locker. The problems for me with the Raptor are cost, width, and payload. The new...
Beautiful rig. Where did you find one still alive? We had one when I was in highschool for about a year. The rear end rusted fell off and the brakes rotted. My dad had to drop the plow to stop it when going down the driveway. Sad day. I hoped to have it as my first car.
Can't wait to see where...
Bring the kids. This is family friendly, it always will be. I will have my 5 month old daughter with me.
There are hiking trails up there. Not sure about trails to drive. That is the main purpose of the kickoff and monthly meets. So we can network, share cool places to go, and set up some group...
Edit/Add: The kickoff is at Washington Rock State Park this Saturday at 12 noon.
Hey everyone! My name is Lee. We are long overdue for group meets and trips over here. Thanks to @Chris Jones for his hard work for the east region so we can get things moving.
To kick things off I am planning...
I like the fact it is rechargable. Unfortunately not waterproof. My pup would ruin it on the first hike with any body of water nearby.
I am going to look into the chem light idea.
I'm happy about the reorganization. It was split up in too many ways before to make anything organized.
I look forward to meeting people and getting some group trips planned. I'd love to help out anyway I can.
I would go with BDS. They have a 5.5 kit without the fox shocks for $1,800.

I have the BDS 4" kit on my f150. It's very good quality. I saved money by going 4" with spacers on the front coilovers first. Later, hopefully in a...
I'm thinking about trimming a small grill type base plate for inside the bottom of the pit. Like on a Webber charcoal grill. Something to put the kindling on.
I did not get the base plate yet. I think I will in the future. Along with the canvas bag.
I have a lot of other gear to collect for our big trip this year. I couldn't spend all the cash on the accessories for the fire pit.
As far as the question of, can I join on the group runs with X kind of rig?
I feel that maybe when a group trip is getting planned there should be a base list of highly recommend, recommend, and nice to have at the start. I have seen this with outfitters that do it for a living. It tells you...
