Eating utensils traditional or new age?

We have a plastic set, I believe MSR. I melted 1 fork cooking eggs..... I'm looking at the snowpeak stuff for our future plates and utensils. I prefer metal usually for it's strength and find it easier to clean.

    Portable Fire Pits?

Got the large snowpeak the other day. The craftsmanship is great. Folds up easily and not too heavy. Looking forward to testing it out soon.

    I can't "handle" it

Yep, I hate varnish on most of my tools. Any quality axe should come un-varnished and just treat with linseed oil.

@BoostedDoc Approach angle is 30° Departure is 28.5° Is that good or bad? I calculated my breakover angle as well. It came out to 24.1° with my side steps giving me 15" of ground clearance. The steps are in line with the frame so I doubt I'll get much better than that even if I upgrade to...

I actually have no idea how to measure that. I think ADD had told me at one point, but the lift would throw that off. I'll have to get back to you on that.

Have my DD setup done. Wanted one of the HD Diamondback truck covers for a while. We travel alot to different towns/cities and don't camp. I needed something to keep our stuff dry and secure. Bonus is being able to load stuff on top. I think it looks damn cool too....

Where do you store your food, Is it safe to store it in the car?

How about with pick up beds? My RTT will be above the bed of the truck. I'm thinking I should move the cooler from the bed and either throw it in the back seat or slide it under the truck. I'm not sure which is best yet. I will be in grizzly territory this summer.

What do I really need for recovery gear?

Synthetic shackles are great. Especially for joining two straps together. Personally I would not use them on any metal recovery point that has sharp or squared edges. I'd rather use a metal shackles in that case.

I love my Salomon Quest GTX boots. I wish I bought 3 more pairs to store away. Here is the newer version of what i have. http://www.salomon.com/us/product/quest-4d-2-gtx.html?article=373259 For work I'm using 5.11 skyweight boots. Not exactly thrilled with them. They do the job but I need to...
