Thank you! I used to take the basket off for winter and was surprised by the negligible mpg improvement. Admittedly I haven’t done a road trip without the basket but it’s definitely a combination of things. The aero up front, top, and underneath have all been impacted. Then there’s the increased...
Thank you! Sounds like you’re in a very similar situation. This was Monday and the only thing missing in the picture is our 13 year old dog haha.
The best mileage I can hope for is 25 mpg and I get that at lower speeds (55-60 mph) to and from work. Fully loaded I get 22 mpg on the interstate...
Welcome to Overland Bound! There are quite a few Subaru driving members and we’re always glad to see another one. Feel free to check out and introduce yourself in the Subaru Registry. I’m always glad to help so please ask if you ever have any questions...
Came out great! Nice work!
Welcome to Overland Bound! Please feel free to ask if you ever have any questions about your 5th gen Outback!
Making me seriously jealous. I’m sure that was an awesome time.
Here’s an easy tip for anyone looking for shared trails absolutely anywhere. Simply plug the area you’re looking for into google followed by either KML or GPX. For example Michaux GPX yields this as the first result..
Michaux State Forest
In the very first post is a collection of routes...
The smaller the wheel the more tire sidewall you have which has several benefits. Smoother ride and airing down without terrain features impacting the wheel are some of the benefits.
No problem! Even though it’s not the same years the bumper cover is essentially the same. It’ll take longer to watch the video than it will to do the task haha.
It’s a super simple task. Have a blanket handy to set the bumper cover on and you’ll have it off in less than 10 minutes. Even after 4 years even the clips in the worst possible locations still come out easy enough and go right back in.
Mine as well share the NFPA regulations...
You must transport propane cylinders upright. They cannot be laying on their sides. You must secure the cylinders in place -- usually with bungee cords -- to prevent them from falling over.
*** This one can be confusing since a tank designed to be on...
All high pressure tanks are filled with liquid propane. The issue is when in use. A tank not designed to be used laying down can allow liquid propane to flow and that’s a fire hazard.
Welcome to Overland Bound and to the East Region as well @Vizard! You're close to a lot of great places to get off the grid so I'll be looking forward to seeing your adventures. I've always had a soft spot for the X and its especially cool with an engine swap. Safe to assume its a VK?
Be sure...
Congrats on your new Taco @HaulPaul! Check out this thread...

I think the TNJT could be just what you’re looking for since it offers a wide range of well documented trails and scenic drives.
‘They’, as in Cooper, list the tire as 31 or 34 depending on which tire you you purchased in that same size. The 33 was from TireRack but I guess Cooper doesn’t know how much their tires weigh..
My bad on the wheel though. The weight I gave was, inadvertently, for their 17”.
There are a LOT...
