Thank you @deeve!
When I was running Geolandar G015 AT rubber I was getting 24-25 mpg on my daily drive to and from work with everything on the car. Pretty great for anything with 12" of ground clearance but I haven't had a good opportunity with it being winter to check it with the Wildpeaks...
Speaking from experience I can tell you that aftermarket support only goes so far with any Subaru but thats just where custom creativity steps in. That said every week there are more and more of us taking our Subarus where they were never intended so aftermarket support is slowly increasing...
Congratulations on the birth of your son @Cody_Gorsuch!
Elk Creek Cafe is a great before, during, and/or after stop.
Welcome to Overland Bound and the East region from northeast Pa! Always nice to see a fellow Pennsylvanian. Look forward to meeting you out there so keep your eye on the...
Congrats on your new Subaru! Look forward to seeing your adventures. Cool choice for a background btw.
I’ve been trimming for a couple years and it still rubs a little haha!
Welcome to Overland Bound! Great to see another Subaru driving member and the fact that you hale from the great state of Pennsyltucky is a bonus. I appreciate the compliment and I’m always glad to help so feel free to reach out if you ever have any questions.
I believe the largest tire you can run stock is 225/60 17. Most people I know who go off road with their Crosstrek usually step down the wheel size to 16 or even 15 with the right type of wheel. Food for thought.
Unfortunately lifting has no real impact on what fits and what doesn’t when it...
I've been running a 5lb bottle and I've been very happy getting away from the disposables. I use it for cooking, light, heat and sometimes a combination. More is always nice but everything I do is done with weight saving in mind and I've never run dry when I was out. Admittedly when I run heat...
All of the rubber pieces came with the mount but had to be trimmed and/or repositioned. That worked out well because the excess edge guard that is in contact with the sides of the tank was repurposed on the bottom edge of the tank so that when you lock it in place with the cleat I added it makes...
There’s a 30k severe service interval. It’s a good idea to have it flushed because Subaru didn’t do anyone any favors with its just adequate trans cooling. Heat and what it does to the fluid is what you need to be concerned about.
When I had inquired before purchasing my Delorme I was told by them that it would not function but that may very well have been false. I'd like to think that it was just a mistake on their part but who knows these days. I just looked into it again and found a couple instances of the GPS portion...
I can only speak for the Outback since I haven't put the other options through their paces but definitely go out and drive things. It's unfortunate that you were involved in an accident that resulted the the totaling of your Outback but it is an opportunity to switch things up. The accident is...
Welcome to Overland Bound and welcome to the east region @Boots! Look forward to reading about your adventures, your rig, and hopefully meeting you at one of our region events. Keep an eye on the calendar for events and if you ever have any questions please don't hesitate to ask...
No problem. Wish I had a better answer for you. The InReach is obviously awesome as a satellite communicator and there are few things that can replace that, none free. If you subscribe to the freedom plan you are free to suspend service and then resume. The monthly charges are slightly higher...
I used to run a Dual 150 with my WiFi only iPad but have been using an InReach for a year and a half or so. I had researched it prior to purchase and the answer is no. The InReach will not work without an active subscription.
Accurate!
Welcome to Overland Bound! Glad you found the registry and good luck on your decisions. At the very least proper tires do wonders for any Subaru and you don’t need to lift it to fit any available options.
A negative with open diffs and traction control not commonly discussed is the added stress it places on the transmission which results in additional heat buildup. A bad thing with autotragics. Coming from a Subaru with open diffs I have what’s called X-Mode which dramatically increases off road...
No Problem Blue. Check out the differences but GPX is my preferred file type. Also feel free to create a new thread and post it in Overland Bound Routes. Its hard to imagine but nobody has shared this route here previously...
