Rooftop Access Ladder: Use it, or a waste of money?

You mean kickouts? Or tree smashers? Haha! My sliders are wide enough to double as steps/running boards for side access to my roof rack. I can also just climb up into the truck bed though...

Thoughts and reasons for your chosen rig

Bought my Tacoma as a daily driver, to replace a crummy old Ford Ranger. I always tinker with my vehicles, so it wasn't long before I had a roof rack, intake, and new shifter. Then I had a really good year financially, and bought new wheels and stepped up to 33" tires. Then I really got into...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

I sort of want to steal this idea.... That or my ham callsign.

    ColoradoPacific's 2014 Tacoma Build

Thanks!! I mounted it in the passenger footwell, near the front of the center console molding. If that makes sense... I'll try to get some pictures up soon. The Bearcat is HUGE though. Definitely want to get a smaller head unit at some point.

    What color Trasharoo?

They're plenty sturdy. The dye in the fabric just isn't very UV-stable.

    What color Trasharoo?

Well, they don't seal up, I wouldn't call them "Watertight". But the canvas is vinyl or silcone lined on the inside, and the outside is treated as well. The top flap is oversized as well, so if you cinch it down anything inside should stay pretty dry. But if you're just using in for trash, who...

    What color Trasharoo?

They definitely fade fast. Olive drab quickly becomes a more muted, almost sage green. Black will become a medium grey. I haven't seen any tan ones, but I would assume the same for them.

A little tip on using any of these traction devices... Get some nylon webbing and make yourself a 20-30ft leash for each one. Tie off the other end of the leash to your rear bumper/tow-hitch/whatever (being sure that it won't get caught up on an axle. As you drive over them, if you're in a...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

@Disco_Berty I've always found the treatment of silencers/suppressors in the UK to be pretty ironic. Here in the US we pay $200 or so just for an application then wait 6 months or more, then if approved, have to pay another $750 or more to actually buy the suppressor! And that's if you live in a...

    First Aid & Field Medicine

We all love to get out in the Great Beyond and have fun, but occasionally nature conspires against us and things can go awry. When you are hundreds of miles from the nearest hospital or urgent care center (or only 2 miles, but it's rough terrain), do you have the skills and equipment to ensure a...
