In my experience there are four types of concealed carry people....
1) Carry because they think it's cool, and make sure to tell everyone about it
2) Carry occasionally, but only when it's convenient and comfortable
3) Carry whenever and wherever they legally can, but will leave the gun at home...
Just wondering how much in-depth planning everyone does prior to a road trip or trail run?
Once I've picked a destination, I usually just ensure I have enough supplies (food, fuel, water), and weather appropriate gear to make the trip. I don't really have a plan of exactly where I'll camp, or...
Good idea to enforce basic equipment. Another idea along the same lines... When headed out with a group, it's a good idea to decide your driving order. This can be based on a laundry list of things (experience, ground clearance, winch availability). This can be even more important when coming...
Anytime, man!! I lived out in Kitsap County for 10 years, and only recently moved back to Colorado. I miss that area of the country, and would love to come back for some trail adventures!
To me, guns are no different than seatbelts or fire extinguishers. They are tools which are available for me to defend life and property.
Do I expect to need a medium-caliber rifle and pistol, both with multiple extra magazines, every time I leave the house? Absolutely not!! (If I did feel that...
Everyone uses their vehicle differently, and no two vehicles are the same. There are a million different answers to this question, and none of them are exclusively right or wrong. If you're commuting long distances and concerned with mileage, go with higher gearing. If you prefer spending most...

Also, for ease of access, I have a 1911 in a kydex holster mounted under the dash.

The full text is as follows
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the...
Welcome!! This is probably the friendliest online group I've found. No petty bickering over brands or modifications. Solid folks with a common interest and a huge pool of knowledge! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Agreed! I think this is a great backup, and less reliant on high-end tech. Would also be great for pinpointing your location once a SAR team is in the area. GPS is great, but a visual aid like this could be the difference between life and death in dense forests, rugged terrain, or at night.
