    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

In my experience there are four types of concealed carry people.... 1) Carry because they think it's cool, and make sure to tell everyone about it 2) Carry occasionally, but only when it's convenient and comfortable 3) Carry whenever and wherever they legally can, but will leave the gun at home...

How much do you plan your trips?

Just wondering how much in-depth planning everyone does prior to a road trip or trail run? Once I've picked a destination, I usually just ensure I have enough supplies (food, fuel, water), and weather appropriate gear to make the trip. I don't really have a plan of exactly where I'll camp, or...

    Any Preppers/Threepers?

Good idea to enforce basic equipment. Another idea along the same lines... When headed out with a group, it's a good idea to decide your driving order. This can be based on a laundry list of things (experience, ground clearance, winch availability). This can be even more important when coming...

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

Anytime, man!! I lived out in Kitsap County for 10 years, and only recently moved back to Colorado. I miss that area of the country, and would love to come back for some trail adventures!

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

To me, guns are no different than seatbelts or fire extinguishers. They are tools which are available for me to defend life and property. Do I expect to need a medium-caliber rifle and pistol, both with multiple extra magazines, every time I leave the house? Absolutely not!! (If I did feel that...

How Important is Your Drive Train?

Everyone uses their vehicle differently, and no two vehicles are the same. There are a million different answers to this question, and none of them are exclusively right or wrong. If you're commuting long distances and concerned with mileage, go with higher gearing. If you prefer spending most...

    The Tankoma (Mexican Overland Tacoma)

What are you using the bungie sling for? Just noticed it hanging from the rear bumper. Or is it just a dog leash that snuck into the shot? LOL

    The Tankoma (Mexican Overland Tacoma)

@ChepoCDT is your rear bumper from Relentless Fab? Or did you just take inspiration from them? Either way, looks great!! That's gonna be about what mine looks like, when I scrape up the funds for a high clearance bumper.

    Legal Weapons and Overlanding

This is why my "truck gun" is chambered in 300 Blackout! Serious step up in muzzle energy, for a slight decrease in "reach out and touch someone" abilities. Also, for ease of access, I have a 1911 in a kydex holster mounted under the dash.

    Any Preppers/Threepers?

Just thought you should know... That quote is from a poem in J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Fellowship of the Ring". The full text is as follows All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the...

    Emergency Rescue Balloon

Agreed! I think this is a great backup, and less reliant on high-end tech. Would also be great for pinpointing your location once a SAR team is in the area. GPS is great, but a visual aid like this could be the difference between life and death in dense forests, rugged terrain, or at night.
