Just ordered a couple of these weatherproof cable entry plates. I will eventually remove the sharkfin antenna on the top of my cab and install these for some nice clean wiring for lights & antenna!
The sharkfin is for Nav/Satellite radio, neither of which I use. Might as well take advantage of...
Thank you all for the phenomenal tips! It's looking like I will be able to avoid this frigid option though. I think I've found a place which is affordable and will be available in a couple weeks!
HOWEVER, I encourage everyone to continue this thread. It's a valuable topic to discuss!
I think we can agree on all that, haha!! I've also decided that when I pay off my truck, I'll be working towards buying a Pinzgauer 710K (hardtop version). Will be the ultimate overlander/camper/zombie-crusher! :grin:
I just pulled that image from a quick google search haha! But there's lots of options. You can always find a local shop to fab something up for you, and make it exactly how you want. ...This is getting off the "new-member" topic though, so you may want to search around the threads here for...
@XplorinMegacab & @c.r.e.weaponry ... Welcome!!!
@XplorinMegacab ... Just a thought on RRT/storage: you could keep the roof rack and put an RRT over your bed.

Anyone in Colorado looking for a decent trailer, there is one in Greeley for under $5000, fully built. THIS IS NOT MINE, I AM SIMPLY SHARING THE INFO!

We have decided to sell our 2010...
I have a set of Toytec BOSS coilovers for a 2nd gen Tacoma. 650# coils, with about 75,000 miles on them. They would be great for a budget build, or sending in to Toytec for a rebuild to have a brand new setup!
I will post up pictures this weekend...
I am planning out my dual battery system, with the hopes of getting everything purchased over the next year and installing during the winter of 2017/2018...
I had always had this impression that OPTIMA was the battery brand above all others, but lately I hear that they are terrible? What...
That's a great tip!
Luckily, it looks like I've found a new place to stay... Rent is a little more than I had been paying previously, but it's a MUCH nicer place. Just need to come up with the money for deposit & first month's rent, on top of paying the rent on my current place... :-/
