Yes. Bigger tires mean more unsprung weight, and more stress on your steering/brakes/bearings/etc.
Of course, this is all subject to HOW big your new tires are. If you're only going up 1" from stock (in height and/or width) it probably isn't going to make much difference. If you're going from...
Definitely can't argue that other trucks are equally capable. I looked at Nissan, Ford, and Chevy when buying my truck. Each of them has it's strong points and weak points. I think it just boils down to what features you want, how much you're willing to spend, and which one suits your needs...
I have 55,000 miles on my 2014 Tacoma (DCSB, 6-speed manny). Not a single problem that has required service/repairs.
Torture tests passed so far
Moved from Seattle to Denver last January, towing my '67 Camaro, with both vehicles loaded down with cargo. Only issue was having to drop into 3rd...
@1Louder , thanks for that info! Good to know how it holds up! My plan is just for exterior (body) use, so I don't think I'll have to worry about wearing it down like your trailer floor.
I've seen lots of comments about the rollers falling apart. I'm curious how other types of rollers would...
Yeah, I've read some initial reviews that have good things to say, but I haven't found very many long-term reviews (like, how does it hold up after 5 years or so??).
A buddy of mine just did his FJ80 last weekend, and it LOOKS great. But again, no word on how it stands the test of time.
A few shots from a quick afternoon trip over Guanella Pass on Sunday.
Some of the locals were having dinner on the side of the road.
The clouds would've made for much more dramatic pictures if I had a real camera and knew how to use it haha!
Sat on a log in the middle of the river...
Looking for a cheaper option than Line-X/Rhino Lining/etc to do the body of my truck. Monstaliner looks like an affordable option, with lots of color choices, but I'd never even heard of it until a couple weeks ago.
Has anyone used this product? If so, how has it held up to weather, rocks, sun...
I'm a "prepper" before any other hobby. Have been for years. My opinion on this is a very solid "it depends."
I know, clear as mud right?? Well, here's the thing: Some things are absolutely worth spending good money on. Other things can be had for cheap, or you can make due with something...
This is more of a hike than an overland, but one of my favorite destinations ever!

Got my light bar on just in time for my first Moab trip last year. It actually mounted up perfectly to the BajaRack using existing holes. No drilling or fitting required. Love the low-profile look too. Most people don't even notice I have a light bar up there!
StreetTaco sliders. They've held up well, but fit & finish is mediocre and it took 6 months longer than promised to get them. Will eventually swap them out for something better.
