What color trasharoo does everybody have? I need help deciding between black and olive drab for my rig! (Pic attached) I've got a grey rig with pretty much all black accessories. What do you guys think? Obviously black would match more, but for some reason I think olive drab would look cool too. View attachment 9127

Also I quickly learned if you want to keep it the same color, look into putting some fabric protectant or something on the outside. The top flap either leaches when it gets wet or the sun fades it.
I think any color would look good on your rig.

They definitely fade fast. Olive drab quickly becomes a more muted, almost sage green. Black will become a medium grey. I haven't seen any tan ones, but I would assume the same for them.
How waterproof are these things? I would think making them out of a heavy tarpaulin would be better than canvas or waxed canvas. It would spike the price as well - but, either way, for a guy without a spare tire on the back of his rig, I'm all about these things!!!!
Well, they don't seal up, I wouldn't call them "Watertight". But the canvas is vinyl or silcone lined on the inside, and the outside is treated as well. The top flap is oversized as well, so if you cinch it down anything inside should stay pretty dry. But if you're just using in for trash, who cares??

Well, if they were waterproofed or made from tarpaulin, they would last longer.. The fabric wouldn't be as susceptible to the elements.
They're plenty sturdy. The dye in the fabric just isn't very UV-stable.
You and me both! I was planning, down the road, to get one of those rear bumpers I see that have the gates on them. Anyone know where to find those? the gates that hug the tailgate and you can mount a spare tire, high lift jack, gas cans, etc on.
My rig is grey and I have the olive drab one. I was going to get black, but the trasharoos get so dusty and dirty on the back of all rigs and I felt dirt on the olive color looked cool whereas dirt on the black one just looked dirty. Lol.

There's a bunch out there. I was looking at them last night - there's got to be 15 different versions for my 4Runner.

Well, that's what I'm getting at - if they upgraded the fabric treatment or the fabric itself - it would eliminate that issue. However, it would drive up the cost.
Yeah, I see a lot for SUVs, but can't seem to find again the one I saw that was built into the bumper and made specifically for pickups. I thought it was a rhino... Shoulda bookmarked it... blah... lol
Check out a company called "Fab Fours"... When I had my Tundra I looked at them for a bumper like this.

Mmm.. I'm a sucker for a nice Toyota.
I have the green.. No issues with fading, though I only use it when I'm going offroading. Not sure if any waterproofing was done on the bag, but mine has been through some heavy rain and the items inside stayed dry.
