No doubt. When I mentioned the Chevy Shimmy to the service writer, he shrugged and said " they all do that." To which I replied, "maybe all Chevys do that, but not all cars do that."
I was fortunate to get 175k out of mine (with some maintenance) before suffering a full transmission...
You proceed from false assumption. I love Toyotas. Rav4. 4runner. Prius V...all great stuff.
And I'm not on social media, I read the real news.
3.8 million toyotas were recalled in 2009, which they eventually traced to the floor mat issue. But they were recalled again in 2010 and found...
Oh, I'm not upset at all, merely pointing out some facts and information. We agree, no manufacturer is exempt, I don't know what you are upset about, it's not an attack on you, as I said.
For you to presume that I'm talking about something I read on social media?!?! You are way off base...
I can not contradict your life's work and won't attempt to. However, let's take GM's AFM DFM or the infamous 8 speed transmission that is in a class action right now...a relatively small number of affected people are upset for good reason but GM disagrees that this is systemic enough for...
^^^ THIS as a first step. None of the other guys is wrong, but check the simple stuff first. When comms are down, first check you turned the radio on, right?
It's an 04, and you didn't state much about its history. If that brake fluid has never been changed, it can be a problem. If then a...
Simple solution. Since you are saving $ on parts and such...build the Tahoe the way your wife wants and build the Dodge Ram out the way your daughter wants, for those times it will just be the two of you.
I'm a GMC/ Chevy guy, and I used to love those full sized big old Blazers, so my first tendency is to gravitate towards a Tahoe. But clearly a Dodge 2500 has more "oomph!" but it's from 1997...that's a lot of tears ago. A much newer Tahoe? Yeah, I could use the lesser age to justify it...
Another thing to note: you are sort of comparing apples to oranges. Im not a Dodge guy, but clearly a 2500 series will have more hauling and towing capacity and any half ton will have a better ride, even if the half ton Chevy were solid axle.
If badge is meaningless to you, it's all tow...
Naw. I had no trouble at all passing annual inspection many years in a row in my 93 full size Blazer Silverado 5.7, no trouble in my 94 full size Blazer Silverado 5.7, and both were IFS with torsion bars. Have had no trouble in my 14 GMC Sierra 5.3 and thats IFS as well but with coil-overs...
Have one of these in the office, placed on top of those clear blue 5 gallon water jugs. Honestly I just carry my own water in Nalgenes, but this seems to work. I think water coursing through it recharges it, though it does surprise us and need to be connected to the charger from time to time.
No special license needed for a 250/ 2500 series 3/4 ton in the US.
I've never driven the Pan-American trail, so I would defer to @tjZ06 or @orange01z28...@Alanymarce I would wager has a ton of experience as well (see what I did there?)
As Alanymarce talked about some mid-size vehicles, our...
I grabbed some "crappy" offroad lights from Harbor Freight. Unfortunately I have yet to hook them up.
Could you post a play by play how you hooked yours?
It's the old 4 cylinder vs 8 cylinder discussion. A 4 may be tricked out to similar hp as a stock 8 cyl, but the 8 idles at 750rpm, and doesn't break a sweat doing heavy hauling that a car would struggle with. Same with off-road capabilities.
However, as others have said, know the limits...
I've been looking at Forester Sports, then my eye wandered towards the Forester Wilderness when it came out. My nephew just bought one, built a platform in the back and took off out west.
Maybe next year, for me. But for me it would be the Forester
For the record I have a 14 GMC Sierra, bought it used some years ago with the tonneau on it. Took me more minutes to remove it. Took a lot longer to put the Leer bed cap on. When I removed the tonneau, I stored it in the basement along with the ridgid mud flaps and the front bumper "chin...
