I’m looking for a simple, yet reliable hose extension for my 400p. Ive my own hair brain ideas which would entail doing away with the cheapo plastic line and making my own and doing away with the inaccurate gauge. Thoughts?

If I remember correctly, there are various extension hoses from Viair. I took a different route with my compressors and converted them to the standard compressed air fitting used here in Europe (NW 7.2). This means that standardized hoses from the regular pneumatic supply fit. Those are available in different lengths.

Interestingly enough the quick connect on the pump is a common 1/4" M size. I went to the local hardware store, bought a good 20ft rubber airline, two female quick connects and a new locking air chuck. the old plastic coil line is in the trash. I never did trust that line. Thats nice that ViAir surprised me by using a common size !

I've been wanting to do this for quite a while, but didn't know which fitting would work. Thanks!!!
