Bald Eagle State Forest - recommendation needed for a day trip

Plenty of information and .gpx tracks that include both ‘off road’ trails and scenic drives here. https://www.overlandbound.com/forums/threads/pennsylvania-bald-eagle-state-forest.22173/#post-299672

George Washington National Forest Dispersed Camp Sites

I’ve never had an issue finding a place to camp in that area. As others have said it’s first come first serve and even when it’s ‘busy’ there are a lot of places to set up so you simply just pick an area and keep your eyes open. Some are close to the trails and others disappear into the woods...

Can Subarus drive on the beach?

Thank you @FunkyStickman! It was lifted 3.25” front and 3.75” rear.

    Facebook Group?

Just approved you. I think there are several factors that go to answering your question. In Pennsyltucky we have several ‘overland groups’ focused primarily on local-ish travel and based solely on FB. Id say it’s easier to be found and operate there considering how many people use FB. Not to...

    Facebook Group?

It would appear that Overland Bound is no longer interested in an affiliated Facebook group. That said, you can find what’s left of it here.. https://www.facebook.com/groups/OverlandBoundEast/?ref=share_group_link

    Pa roll call

Welcome @CLARO86! Is that Jonestown by the Gap or Jonestown near Berwick?

    Subaru Owners Registry

Okay sooo I have some comments about what you shared. While I agree with the faux shift points the CVT has repeatedly received a bad rap. I will admit that I wish they would put a traditional slush box in it so long as it was a reliable option. Also the ‘wilderness’ models get unique gearing for...

    Hey everyone!!

Welcome again Josh! Feel free to check out this ‘loop’ in Bald Eagle State Forest I shared a while back. You can conveniently use the Overland Bound One App or you can download the .gpx files. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions...

    Tatanka / 20 Chevy ZR2 Bison

I was curious about a response to that question as well. Looks a good bit heavier than my setup when I’m loaded up and I feel the AAL is nearing its limit but rides near stock for day to day work. I run a slight increase in front spring rate as well and it flexes just fine. Loaded up or not.

    2022 Subaru Outback

Load up all your heaviest belongings, remove the rear sway bar, and hit some trails or the beach. Unlike front springs the rear springs will only break in from real use. Congrats on building your off road Subaru! Lot of people on here either used to or currently run one so feel free to ask...

Honda Ridgeline/ Pilot Stock VS Lifted Uwharrie Offroad (AWD Festival 2022)

Just to add to this and the rest of the conversation… my ‘old’ Subaru had more clearance (12”) than probably most of the people on here, including my truck, and if I drove a reasonable speed I could see 25mpg on a good day. Still quiet, still comfortable, and far more capable than most are...

Changing directions, new 2023 Subaru Outback build

Congrats on your new Subaru and your new direction build. There are quite a few of us who used to or currently run Subarus so be sure to check out existing build threads or the Subaru registry for ideas. Plenty of people, including myself, that you can reach out to with questions.

Can Subarus drive on the beach?

I have a ton of experience driving a modern Subaru on the beach and they’re extremely capable regardless of sand conditions. All the same attributes that make them superior to other vehicles in winter still apply but in the sand they also benefit from being much lighter. Admittedly my Outback...

    Boondocking with Chevy Colorado

I love my Bison and find it to be just about perfect for everything I do… so long as I don’t reset the trip meter when I fill the tank haha. I recently started to wonder again how a shell could enhance its abilities in this arena. Would love to see your Colorados or Canyons here so feel free to...

    Colorado/ZR2/Bison and Canyon Registry

What’s everyone up to with their Colorado/Canyon? I need to get my comms sorted and finish some wiring but instead I took advantage of a rare opportunity to explore a different area recently. This thing is easily one of the most endearing vehicles I’ve ever owned.

Let's see those rigs in action

It’s definitely a fantastic area @Frank Force. I did Union ~5 years ago in a ‘not your average’ Subaru. Really hurt a lot of people’s feelings that day haha.
