How long do you stay in one place when boondocking?

I'm not familiar with the term, but I guess that's the type of camping I do. I dislike campgrounds. I only camp in places that are far from other people, hard to get to, and great views.

    Tahoe or Ram 2500

I've not owned either, but have been passenger in both. I fell in love with the Ram 2500 black edition. Feel like the Tahoe would be more kid friendly, but ram is just a more robust vehicle.

How are you hauling your Gazelle T4 tent?

Mines not a gazelle, but similar type of tent (pop up), so it's about the same size when folded up. For now, it fits behind the driver and passenger seat, but plan to secure it to the roofrack (once the rack arrives).

Traveling with Baby and Child: Tips for Vanlife and Overlanding

I'm the oldest of 3 siblings. My parents brought us camping very early on, months old. We usually camp from a week to a few weeks, but never more than that.

Planning a trip to Mammoth, CA

I'll have to look those up! I'm not a fan of crowded areas, so the less traveled the better. I'm hoping for some medium to difficult trails, even some technical trails. I want to do Rubicon trail, but my friends cannot go on that trail in their rigs for sure.

    Smoker

I do that as well. My mons property has a lot of oak trees and large limbs fall every winter storm, and no shortage of oak firewood. I soak smaller pieces, and use them for the smoker.

Fridge Sizes - Let me see yours!

I've actually never heard anyone talk down on alpicools... I have a dometic fridge, junk. Within a year, the cord barely works. I have to place the power cord in the perfect position otherwise it won't power. My alpicool survived a rollover accident.

    Mountain biking

I plan on buying 2 mountain bikes (1 for my wife). But unsure of where to start, and how much to spend. My budget for the 2 bikes would be about $1000. I'm not even sure if mountain bikes are what we want, mostly it would ridden on the beach paths, but also dirt and some trails. We have a ton of...

    Overlanding and CPAP

I don't have a CPAP, but had a heart pump for a year. So I brought my LVAD (left ventricle assistance device) batteries with me everywhere I went. Looked up the power requirements and ended up with an ecoflow delta 2. Was enough to keep me off grid for about 5 days, more with the solar panel.

Fridge Sizes - Let me see yours!

I have 4 portable fridges, but these are my main 2. Wife has a smaller 30 qt alpicool in her chevy. Alpicool taw35 and taw55. Best fridges I've ever had. My taw35 survived a rollover crash when I was in Moab. I usually keep the taw35 in the back of my jeep full time, and running full time...

cleaning cooking wear during and after a trip

I have a rotopax water container on the side of my jeep (2 gallon), and wash my items there. Things are easier to clean when they're still a little hot. I use one of those scrubbers that holds soap inside. Once dry, they go into my large totes.

    Smoker

Does anyone else bring a small smoker when you overland? I bring this little Chargriller Akorn Jr. It's quite small, about a 14" grill. It's only enough for a small family at most. I could fit about 5 chicken thighs, or 3 good size steaks, or a Cornish game hen. But i love bringing this...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

What size tire did it come with? Usually foe the 3.6 engine, 4.88 is the better choice.

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

That's the most common gearing folks with the 3.0 go with when going 37s or 38s. 4.30 would be closest to stock, but I've never seen that ratio before.
