    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

You would have needed some really good binoculars to see us! We ended up off of highway 410 NW of Bethel ridge in the Clover Spring area. If you look over in the shared routes section @JL Lou posted our track. I think it was titled Little Bald Mountain. That's the name of the peak that...

When I was shopping lifts I wanted to stay at 3" because it didn't require adj. CA's, but now with the bigger tires I want to try pushing the front axle forward some. hopefully I can do it easy enough and the the new Ca's will also allow my to adjust the caster once I put in the leveling spacers.

Having the shops and tools at the farm is definitely a luxury when building a rig. My end goal for this build is to have a capable trail rig that is also reliable/comfortable enough to take on multi day trips, basically a 50/50 overland, trail rig. Once I get my suspension and rear bumper done...

Thanks! Next project should happen in a week or so once the rest of the parts come in. I already have the front leveling spacers which I think will help the nose down look and give a little clearance for the bigger tires. After the lift it had some rake to it, but it went down about a 1/4"...

Rear fender trim update- There is tons of write ups and how to videos out there on how to trim the rear fenders on a WJ and I think I watched all of them. They range from cutting with a sawzall and hammering the metal over to full on fender relocating with adding in new sheet metal, mine falls...

US Northwest June 2020 WABDR - Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

I fully agree, if I were to take either of my pickups up there (3/4 ton and a 1 ton) that would be a different story. I was just commenting on the fact that his street tires are at 32 psi. If I was up there is a 3/4 ton 'burb I'd be airing down for sure! Btw I really like your rig, I had an...

US Northwest June 2020 WABDR - Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

No I haven't been that far out on 199, first time it was blocked with snow and last weekend was time. While I hear it's worth the drive out there for the view it's also around 6k feet in elevation and on a south facing ridge so if weather is a concern probably not the best place to camp. There...

US Northwest June 2020 WABDR - Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

Just a thought looking at your planned route and you might already know this, but when you come off of Bethel Ridge Rd/NF1500 it will be a little faster if you turn right/south. Nile rd. is only 35mph so turning right will get you back onto the highway faster and back to dirt sooner. Also at...

US Northwest June 2020 WABDR - Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

46.77622, -121.08801 and 46.78423, -121.08706 are two places I marked as a possible group camp sites with the second one being a little better if I remember. Both are off of NF 1500 which is the alt route for Bethel ridge on the BDR. Not sure how long it would make your day to try for those...

I can't talk for all of the WABDR since I was only up around Bethel Ridge but we really didn't have any issue with bugs. Ticks are out, no one found any on them or their dogs but we saw some both trips up there so check yourself after being out in the brush.

I think with the gear you guys have and the "take the challenge head on" attitude you guys will be fine. Like I said before it's a pretty short section and it might dry up some more. There was only one point where I thought I might need to winch but made it out. For the bigger rigs and the...

    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

Good to know. I talked to someone that was there 2 weeks ago and they said if you turned off of NF 64 and took Old Skyline rd up toward Mottet camp ground you could make it farther in. They just got turned back by drifts in the shaded spots. I guess we'll just have to see what we get for...

US Northwest June 2020 WABDR - Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

So the turn off I took on Bethel ridge to avoid the slow rocky section is at 46.75361, -120.99177 and is called Grouse Haven rd on the green dot maps. Gaia doesn't show it connecting up with Bethel Ridge rd/NF 325 but it does and is marked with a white fiberglass highway marker that has a...

    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

I have plans the weekend of the 27th, but I think I'm free the weekend of the 20th if you want go then. I've been wanting to get up in the Blues and see if the snow is gone, we could head to Dayton and see if we can make it all the way south on Skyline. Let me know if that week end works and...

US Northwest June 2020 WABDR - Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

In the 2 weeks between my trips up there it dried up a lot, the first hole you get to will probably dry up some before you get there, at least maybe the approach to it. Between the first and second hole could be interesting for some (I believe that's what is pictured in the previous link @mtn...

US Northwest June 2020 WABDR - Washington Backcountry Discovery Route

I was up there again over the weekend, and ran the whole ridge with no winching. The snow is gone from the trail but still some deep mud. Overall I think there was more mud 2 weeks ago. The bad parts are still where the trail veers off of the ridge and into the trees, the places that had...

    The Tri-Cities Clubhouse

For sure! Let me know when it looks like you're going to have a free weekend and we'll get something planned, I'm down to go whenever. We could head to the Blues and see whats open or up Naches direction. Day trip or weekend camping I'm always interested in getting out. It's usually just...
