Shrockworks front bumper on 4runner....suspension mods needed?

Hmmm,,, shocks or lift height do not support any weight, springs support the weight. If you lift it up 2 inches or so, the additional weight will settle the height back to normal, however, that is a lot of stress on stock springs and everything else. The last thing you want to be doing is...

Shrockworks front bumper on 4runner....suspension mods needed?

Zack, I would contact Duffy Biggs at ARB, ( dbiggs@arbusa.com ) and ask him exactly what spring rate you should be using up front... Amount of "lift" has very little to do with the amount of weight a spring is designed to support. Unfortunately many of the outlets that carry ome can be...

Trasharoo will loose me when Campcover is in the US.

That is absurd.. I was patient and waited for OZtent and Frontrunner products to be marketed here in the US, I can wait for others to catch up

Advice: Keep 07 JK or get a Tacoma

in all honesty, if I could have justified the expense of keeping the Rubi I would have.. once sold though I had a nice pile of money for upgrades on the LC

Trasharoo will loose me when Campcover is in the US.

Here is the update and my verdict:: The Trasharoo is easily among the best camp/vehicle pieces of gear we have ever added to our kit. Now that Dave got that cinch strap out to me in two days, I strapped the bag back up, cinched up the velcro strap and that thing isn't going anywhere.. Great...

Advice: Keep 07 JK or get a Tacoma

My very humble opinion is sought after? Back in 1977 I bought a brand new 1976 Toyota Landcruiser. Life got in the way, career, ex wife, kids, mortgage etc etc. 20 years later I purchased a Jeep Wrangler, then in 2004 I purchased a new Rubicon. That was a great local vehicle, as it soon...

Sure, It is nearly impossible to get the straps tight enough. Beacuse of that, when the trasharoo gets loaded up gravity begins to work and it slides down, way down. So far down that it oftentimes is dragging on the trailer hitch. The only way to hold it up high on the spare tire is to strap it...

Trasharoo will loose me when Campcover is in the US.

Hi All, We have had our trasharoo for a few years now and it has served us well, except for the uncontrollable sagging. There is no way to cinch it up tight enough to prevent sagging. I've watched tutorial vids and I've worked with it way too much to no avail. It became an exercise in...

    Sourcing firewood

This is an interesting topic and for us it's all about the hassle factor. I used to drag a stainless coffee percolator with us. Nothing quite as romantic as a coffe pot perking over an open fire of on the trusty coleman. But, after only a couple of years cleaning, stowing, etc, it just became...

    Sourcing firewood

OK, I'll take the bait-- 1/2 a cord? A cord is 4x4x8 in mass. 1/2 cord would fill up my 4x6x2 trailer and most of the rear deck of my rig, and weigh, if seasoned, nearly a ton. Do you have it delivered to your campsite? Then again, that's a lot of firewood. 1/2 a cord keeps my finished ground...

    Solo, Co-pilot, or Group?

Besides, isn't that what being outdoors is about...sharing it with others! Being out doors, or, in the wild, or, in the backcountry, means many different things to many different people. If ya got 50 people at a meeting and asked for a simple sentence that answers "What does (all of the...

    Power inverters

A dual battery sytem in the cruser along with a 150 watt solar panel. We do sometimes spend 2 or 3 days at a basecamp without moving the vehicle. The Cobra inverter has a USB and two 110volt receptacles. We also run a 110 volt water pump, and use 110 volt LED camp lights. I'm thinking I've...

    Solo, Co-pilot, or Group?

My wife and I prefer going at it alone and have been now for over 25 years. Last year, however, for the first time, family members joined us in their vehicle on the WRT and then deep down into the Needles. The rest of our 6 week tour we went at it all alone. I'm good with that just about...

    Power inverters

That would be impractical for our set up. The power inverter is located at the rear of our vehicle to charge things up over night. As we travel though, yes, the pads and phones are being charged from 12 volt sources from the dashboard.
