As mentioned the sites are usually open year round. Last year though...a lot of roads got shut down...it was a phenomenal winter of deep snow and ice. Pennsylvania is known for all 4 seasons in one day...so it is really a scrap shoot after Nov.1 Good luck with the trip.

Here is an old terrible pic of my 89 Ramcharger. I had a 77 also.. My first 4x4... No pics. I would do about anything to still have my 79 Trailduster... Especially now that my son and I do this sometimes our selves. It would be perfect for the hobby. If I had the funds to blow right now...we...

My opinion of some sites in BESF. Below Route 45 is the most popular and has the most to see overall. Site 47 is probably our absolute favorite site. A vista near by. Clear up on top of the mountain sunk way back in from the road. Very peaceful...except for the planes...you are way up...

ON 2nd thought, please do not buy a Dodge or RAM. Please, no one buy a Dodge or a RAM. Please...let them sit on lots and tell everyone you see that they should not own one. Tell them this is especially true of the ones that say Powerwagon or power ram or Tradesman or ramcharger. Tell them it...

    Minimum clearance

The limiting factor for ground clearance on a truck will be the differentials...maybe shock mounts on the axle also. The only way to change this is with larger diameter tires. My use case is to always get the largest tire to fit stock. I do not even think of lifts or such...as I use my...

    Minimum clearance

Oh...and in the interest of going anywhere...probably need to focus on maximum clearance...minimum is always a limit.

    Minimum clearance

Your absolute best bet...go where your current setup allows you and spend more time going to those places. Spend your money on fuel and food. Most places...going anywhere is illegal. Find out the area you want to explore...and EXPLORE. Go to the same area twice...but find a different route...
