Guest, UPDATE We went through the site migration runbook and completed all steps. We will need to complete the migration next week, but will leave the forums up for the weekend. A few days after maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Recommending tires...ha...that is as fun of an opinion as ford vs Chevy...
Falken have been growing in popularity, BF goodwrench and cooper are also good.
Kendra Klever are a cheaper alternative that many have been using.
Welcome.
All terrain tires would be the only upgrade i would consider.
In the meantime, you have all you need to get started exploring.
Just ask questions about an area...and learn how to turn around.
99% of legal dirt in the area can be done with just gas in the tank.
As you get...
I highly recomend getting the Loyalsock Bald Eagle and Rothrock maps at the least.
Loyalsock is a bit closer to NJ and Bald Eagle and Rothrock SF are connected.
The Pine Creek map would be a great idea too.
On the motorized site map you posted...you can see the red of the vista symbol under the yellow 47.
It is that close lol.
If you have the regular day use map you can see it.
If you have the Purple Lizard Maps...you will see the Purple lizard denoting it.
Got the trip routed for scouting the Gap between the Map.
Not sure of the final plan though. I will be hitting a few new roads on the Moshannon map. I have a tentative route through the Gap...but I haven't decided if I am doing some extra exploring or just making the connection.
Once I get...
Thanks again.
I love the area. Spent alot of time there...just never under the guise of "overlander".
I am just doing a scouting drive checking out a route I am working on for a week or 2 trip.
Truck has a 32 gallon tank. I was debating taking gas with me. I had planned on stopping in Cross...
Thanks for sharing @RBSFabXterra
I am hoping to scout out this area this coming Saturday. Of course...plans have already started to change from when I started planning.
Looks like a great time. And this reminds me. I need to search food and fuel on my route.
Probably because I keep bashing them...lol
Technology and pre made routes...ugh...hahaha
I am no expert...just love driving RAM trucks in Penn's Woods and staring at good maps.
Thanks guys. So basically...i am purchasing it for my app account...and will be in the library to be added to any device using that account.
Thanks.
Kinda what I thought...but wasn't sure. All you guys asking for tracks...guess I need to move away from turn by turn descriptions and screen...
Fall is a great time of year to be in the Pine Creek area.
If you are planning to reserve a spot to sleep...just know you may be very limited on what you can get.
I am hoping to be in this area next weekend scouting out some motorized campsites and 4x4 High Clearance trails.
Got a question.
If I purchase the pro version of an app...is it only good for the device I purchased it with?
Say I purchase it with my phone. Can I also put it on the tablet?
If I get a new phone...will it download on it or do I got to purchase it again?
Thanks.
That route would not take too much time...if you were driving near the 25mph limit.
The only real time consumer is you are back tracking with the route on the west to east course.
Unfortunately...to get to a certain road...this is what you have to do.
@Sigs Does Gaia give you a time for...
The area at G. This is gonna be great. Knocking off a 4x4HC trail and some area i have not been too.
Did some map peeping on the route after G...i can spend alot of this trip on dirt.
