Can't make it this weekend. Ran Emigrant Gap last weekend. Agree you need to be over 6,000ft for good snow.

I might be able to make this. Do you know what the weather temperatures might be? Why would it windy this time of year as it's before the winter storms start? Do we have to bring extra gas?

I assume you did south to north? I also want to do the trip in reverse! Did you spend a night at the ranch?

One of your pictures looks like it's showing the ski area. I didn't know they had a fire up there. I've tried to take the road heading down to a valley but it was gated last time I was up there. Do you know if that's still the case?

SlamsonOO- Did Black rock 2 years ago from the south to north. Keep me in mind if you go again.

I'm pretty sure it was also Prewitt Ridge. Was almost 80F up there last weekend. Haven't been past Gorda for for a while but last time I went through there everything was gated up. If you find out differently let me know as I would like to head down there again.

I could go after November 5th. Have you been there before and have a plan? I'm coming from the Bay Area so don't know anything about the area. Since it's a long trip for me the longer we can spend in the desert the better for me. I've heard there was a book published that showed this as a 4 day...
