Trail and campground near Big Sur

Overland friends,

I recall seeing a video a year or so ago about a trail that ended with an awesome view towards the pacific ocean from the top of a mountain where there was a campground. The video involved really nice lifted subaru forester with a lot of work on it.

Any ideas where is that? what is the name of the trail or campground?

I haven’t seen the video, however I’m in the process of getting ready to go out and explore Big Sur soon. I heard there are a few trails down by Gorda.

Found the video, I was talking with a friend who told me you can get to it from Fernwood area or from the Nacimiento Forest area. He also mentioned that it might be closed these days due to fire danger.

I need to figure out a way to confirm it is closed or not

You might be thinking of Prewitt Ridge, there are some nice campsites with views of the Pacific Ocean up there.

I'm pretty sure it was also Prewitt Ridge. Was almost 80F up there last weekend.

Haven't been past Gorda for for a while but last time I went through there everything was gated up. If you find out differently let me know as I would like to head down there again.
