I've camped during the summer when temps were reasonable. Less than 90 degrees, and there were things to do, such as sit by a lake or go swim in a lake. But this year, I'm thinking about heading to Alabama Hills and Bishop where temps look to be 100+..

Yea, I LOVE the Pinnacles. It was an excellent way to "practice" backpacking and configuring my setup even further since I would leave camp early in the morning and do the long loop which took from sunrise to sunset (I think it was 30 some miles?), and get back to the campgrounds...

I agree with your list. But try to be careful with the bottled spray bug repellent! For some reason, it fell out of my bag and got squished and cracked under all the stuff in the trunk and moving around. It leaked all over. haha
