I can usually get a full weekend out of one 1lb tank. I just ordered a refillable setup, though. I've started to hear sea turtles cry everytime I use one up. So I got the Flame King refillable kit from Amazon. It's like $37 right now.
I don't have either of those, but I've always loved those little Rockies. Cool rigs. Trailblazers look extremely capable, too. Clearly, you're using yours properly. Got pics?
I took some time this afternoon and installed some new rear shocks. I searched around and found the AC Delco Premium monotube shocks. Specs looked a lot like some of the other mono's out there from Skyjacker and Rancho specifically. But about $30 cheaper per piece. I got these on Amazon for...
Nice rig. I'm following because I've got the 1500 version of this, and still trying to figure out what's possible. It is a major bummer that the radio is such a lousy size. Wondering if removing the CD slave below could lend some space for a double DIN head? I haven't even gotten to audio yet...
People who don't fix sunroofs don't rebuild axles either. I'd just replace oil and see how it does.
I couldn't have resisted a $1k D1. Nice score!!! I currently daily drive a 97 D1 that I got for $1400 4 years ago, and it's been one of my favorite project rigs. Great trucks!!
Ugh. Was it also fixed with Black RTV that had clogged up the pump? :grinning:
You caught it before it blew out the side though. That's cool. For mine we were driving back home, and about an hour out we were creeping along in traffic and we started hearing this scraping rattle. First I thought...
Here's the old Transfer case. You can see the hole in it on the little notch in the case toward the bottom of this photo.
And the new case is up and in. Took a couple days and I had a buddy helping me pull the old one out. Putting the new one in is doable solo, but definitely not taking...
I feel like this truck is now a project. Officially. I bought it a few weeks ago after a long search for a capable trail vehicle that seats 7. We need to carry people around when they come visit, and also we like to take dirt roads into oblivion to find starry skies and stuff. Anyway, I already...
I recently acquired this very capable monstrosity.
Have a few things planned for this thing. First up, new transfer case going in this weekend. But anyway...

You can see individual conditions on roads, traffic cameras, snowplow activity, closures, etc. Its invaluable for us here in the winter (and spring/fall). It works great on your phone, too.
Turns out the CV did need to be replaced, and I did that. However, the noise is from the transfer case that's relieved itself of all fluid due to the infamous oil pump rub!! So... Thanks 'Burban, for getting us home anyways. Here comes a swap!
I picked up a 99 Suburban a couple weeks ago from the original owner, threw some 150k maintenance at it, and loaded the squad into it for a jaunt out to Nevada. We used the big roads until they ran out in western Utah. Then we used the Loneliest Road in America (Hwy 50/6) to get to some BLM land...
Hey y'all. I'm Kilby. Located in Morrison, Colorado USA. I've been known to drive a few different vehicles. Currently I'm in a gen 3 Taco and a Disco 1. I'm probably an intermediate overlander, have lots of trail riding experience, and using the vehicles to get the family out to neat places. I...
