My wife was driving, and the Cherokee is new to us...just got it this past week.
I navigated her down a drivable trail. She doesn't do bad at all...i was just a wee bit nervous about the large rocks...she didn't care lol
Had a great time in the forest.
We got up and had breakfast at Reed's Gap State Park. Very nice picnic area and campground. If you are taking children, they will enjoy the play park here.
We then headed down the road. We skipped the way we went in last time and headed further down to set it...
So, this is now my favorite way to get from where I live to the Susquehanna River. So relaxing to just meander from home to the larger cities through the forest.
Sure it takes a bit more time, but it sure beats blowing down the hiway at 70 and missing all the beauty.
The connection of the 2...
We spent the day in BESF. We had breakfast at Reed's Gap Stste park and then hit the forest. Even took the Cherokee on 2 driveable trails. Will do a trip report later in my BALD EAGLE THREAD.

We did a drive through Rothrock today.
Going into BESF in the morning.
Trying out our Jeep Cherokee. So far very pleased with it.

Gonna be in the forest in the A.M.
We will be in our Jeep Cherokee. Not hitting anything crazy. Just gonna show the wife our favorite site and see some we haven't seen yet.
Anxious to get there.
Spent some time in Rothrock today. We took a cruise past the 2 motorized sites we are interested in. Site 1 was empty site 3 was occupied.
Tried to head out the same way we went the one time down past Tussey MT. Ski resort...but the road was closed for bridge work. I knew this...but forgot...
We are making the connection today with our new to us Jeep Cherokee.
Wife wanted to hit some Dollar Tree stores so I said...lets go through the forest.
We started our adventure in Huntigdon and headed past Pulpit Rocks, a purple lizard on their Maps. Interesting to see. Another day would like...
Added another vehicle to our list for overlanding.
This one has a few creature comforts.
2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited
It should fit the trails better...lol
If you do it on google maps and use your gmail login...it should transfer from computer to phone. But, I have never tried.
I love day tripping on Route 6. My favorite stretch of road.
When I did mine for Rothrock to Bald Eagle Stste Forest in central PA...i used the drop pin for next location and then when completed saved it to the phone.
Then when I want I click on the link on my phone and it there ready to follow.
Hope that is clear. I can explain more if needed
His cabin was moved to the PA Lumber Museum.
If you haven't been here you need to check it out.
