We came to a road closed sign. It was not listed on the park site as closed...so we had to change direction.
I had planned to do a bit more exploring in Rothrock, but the air leaving the tire was high on my mind. At the next sign of cell service I checked for the closest Sheetz. Located the...
We will be doing our annual fall foliage road trips soon.
This area is were we usually go. We like to head up 219 and come across Route 6.
Gonna be doing some staring at the map and plan a route.
Any one else excited to see the fall colors and doing any exploring here
After waiting for the 2nd edition of the Moshannon/Quehanna map it is finally done and in my possession.
I told my son they show a few firetowers. His eyes lit up. Looks like we will be going exploring in this area soon in search of the towers.
Anxious to get out.
You have to have the sites reserved before you stay at them. Need a permit to stay the night

I hope to up date my first over night trip thread soon.
We also plan...
I have been exploring Bald Eagle State Forest for about a year now. I have lived in the surrounding area for 42 years.
I just found out about the dispersed/motorized camping in the last 2 years.
Will gladly help you with planning. Questions...just ask, we can find the answers together...
Got my map today. It very interestingly has my hometown in the bottom starting corner. And my hometown is about to become my hometown again.
Can not wait to get some seat time on the trails
