I am not. I only use Facebook through Google searches...about the only way to get info from some places. If I do ever use Facebook...i will be sure to join.
The Day use maps from the Forest district are being revised also. I understand from their post about it that a few trails will be renamed.
I am excited for the Tuscarora maps. We found the Gem that is Fowlers Hollow. There are lots of trails leading from there.
Purple Lizard maps are adding 2 new areas to their collection.
One is hinted on their 2nd Edition Moshannon/Quehanna map and one was just revealed on their Facebook.
Cooks Forest will be done this fall and one including Tuscarora is in the works.
I think it is the MABDR that follows a similar route to what I showed.
Will have to check out the Appalachian By way and see how much overlaps on your first leg in PA
Is this an off pavement route? Is this trying to see a certain part of PA? Is this just a road trip you plotted out?
Are you from the area you have as the Start Point?
Just a little bit confused.
By just going a bit further north before you start east, you can get into some awesome state forest...
Sounds like an epic adventure. I do not have any advice on the trip...but I will be following along to learn. I would truly enjoy the time and be sure to flow at your sons pace.
Are you planning to camp, use hotels, stealth sleep in the vehicle or a little of each?
Just got confirmation from Purple Lizard. Cooks Forest map will be done this fall. And they are actively doing a Tuscarora Forest map.
This is great news as these are also areas we frequent

I geocache in Central Pennsylvania.
We do it for fun...incorporating it with camping trips, hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and Sunday afternoon drives.
This is one of our favorite spots to hit. Prince Gallitzin State Park.

We are probably going to hit a few tomorrow...but definitely next weekend when we camp.
Be sure to do some easy ones first...especially if you have kids
It is a big hit with our family.
It teaches them alot of things in one easy game.
You can reserve your permit 90 days ahead. If you know the dates...you may want to call or email and see what is available.
If you have any particular questions about a site...let me know. Might be headed that way Sunday. But will definitely be there in the coming weekends
