So i have a 16 F150 XLT 4x4. its running stock wheels/tires and has no lift or level. The current tire size is 245/70R17.
I have been thinking about putting on either 265/70R17 or even going 33in and putting on a 285/70R17. Im shooting for either a KO2 or Ridge Grappler. but open to other tire...
thank you. yea i heard 33s are t he most popular for overlanding but some guys put 35s. i plan on doing a 2in leveling kit but still wanna be able to run 33s if possible before that happens.
and also still want good suspension travel without too much rubbing when on the trail.
Just bought a 2016 F150 XLT 4X4. It came with the Ford 36 gallon tank vs the standard 23 gallon. so thats nice.
I want to put some larger tires on it. Probably gonna be some KO2s. It has the 17in rim but was wondering if anyone here knows the biggest you can go without rubbing?
I plan to put a...
i think id definitely go with a gas truck. I do think that F150s are still reliable and heavy duty but of course a 250 is even more durable, just as a 350 is even more HD than that.
but the truck would be used for long overlanding, daily use (dump runs, haul stuff to help friends or family...
thats some pretty good info. yea i was looking at a 250. I was even considering diesel instead of gas as well but not 100% sure yet. Id imagine each would have the pros and cons, just like a 150 v 250.
So im pushing a Jeep right now but want to get a truck as a work and overland rig.
Im a big Ford guy (i know, i know lol)
Wanted some opinions on using an F150 as a overland rig. I see a lot of Raptors but has anyone ever used or seen a simple 4x4 F150/250 XLT, King Ranch or anything as such...
Yeti 110 cause i convinced my old man to toss his old Coleman thats older than i am (29) that he swears "still works" even though its all beat up and torn. so i told him id get him a Yeti cooler hahaha
i will say though, he wasnt wrong....it somehow still held ice for a decent amount of time...
that sounds pretty good actually. i was reading up on them just now and it seems a like a solid tablet for such travels. What kinda mount do you use for yours? i have 2 RAM mounts for the tablet and the cell phone.
Im currently using a Samsung Tab A from 2018 that is my dedicated nav device.
Ill be getting a Garmin Reach soon enough as well.
the tablet is rather slow and ive been thinking about maybe an ipad mini?
any ideas?
Heading up for a 4 day trip to Flagstaff in a couple weeks. Been looking at some camp spots both paid and unpaid. Gonna have my parents out there this time to get outside since COVID has em inside a lot.
My mother doesnt like to "rough it" as me and my dad are into so we may end up staying at a...
Very useful. Been looking for places around the Ohio area to go explore. Just moved from Arizona so I’m very excited to explore this part of the country.
