exactly. ive picked up the beer cans, bottles and other simple trash. even old brass from shooters coming and going but this was on another level. and just scattered all over out in the open like this. luckily these syringes seem to have retractable needles but still disgusting.
So i never thought id ever see something like this at a popular camp site. Took the girlfriend out for a sunset night drive through a trail. Pulled over at a camp site to set up shop, didnt stay long once we saw the disgust that was left there. we were shocked that someone would just leave all...
so took her to the mountains for the day. She felt more relaxed, hung out in the hammock a little. more exposure seems to be working better. She played around with the Gaia app on the ipad. Shes slowly learning more and more.
Just gotta find more shady areas since its warming up outside.
i actually was gonna take some on sunday to show her how to set up a tent and such, also wanted to take her back up to the mountains to teach her some basic land nav with simple landmarks to start.
she actually isnt super big on the the route planning part. Shes more like "oh well you know these trails better than me so ill let you pick one i might enjoy" but she enjoys the planning as far as prepping gear, food, and things like that. even little day drive trips.
im taking her out today for a little day drive up the mountain. only a couple hours of a drive. nothing crazy. since its a friday we'll more than likely run into some jeepers, and side by side guys out there too. So that'll make her feel better. Im also gonna let her drive some if shes...
lol i cant tell if this is a joke or if you're serious?
she actually really loves the outdoors. she calls herself a "hippie" and she belongs in Sedona cause shes into all that kinda stuff. However she's never been anywhere super remote. So we're just building everything up. I think quitting is...
thanks for the help everyone!
We have little discussions about what exactly it is that she gets anxious about. I have even let her drive the truck on some trails so she herself can get a feel for the trail and build her confidence driving offroad. i have premium subscriptions for GAIA and let...
yea i was talkin to my old man about it and thats what he suggested too. He was saying that even though its gonna be a little pricey, to take her to some camping spots that have hosts and flush toilets and such to ease her into it. Then maybe some designated camping spots that dont have a host...
went with a buddy who has a 19 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. Its pricey but all he did was put good tires on it and the thing definitely gets you out into the boondocks if needed. and tons of room interior. but i believe it has a CVT tranny as well and heard those have issues. My 2011 Compass had...
yea shes said things like that too. Her latest one was being up in the mountains at elevation (8,000ft) where we go and is worried about passing out from thinner air. I myself got a little nervous when i first started offroading back when but time definitely got me used to is and enjoyed it. So...
not sure where i should have put this but maybe here.
Anyways, i travel with my girlfriend who has anxiety. She get anxious/nervous when out in more remote (no cell service) types of areas. I recently went out and bought a Garmin InReach Explorer to help ease her worry since we can have people...
thank you everyone. ended up going with the 285/70r17 on stock wheels. they seem to fit perfect without rub and so far even with full flex, they still dont rub.
